American Water Names Rebecca Losli and Brian Eisenloeffel Presidents in Missouri and Illinois

American Water announced on October 14, 2026 that Rich Svindland resigned as president of Missouri American Water effective October 23, 2026, and named Rebecca Losli and Brian Eisenloeffel presidents of Missouri and Illinois American Water. The company said Svindland left to pursue a new professional opportunity.

Svindland's Exit and the Two Successors

Svindland served in key leadership roles at American Water, including president of Missouri American Water and California American Water, according to the PR Newswire announcement. The company thanked him for his contributions.

Losli has been president of Illinois American Water since 2022. She joined American Water in 2021 as director of Engineering for Missouri American Water, later adding Business Development to her responsibilities and becoming vice president of Engineering and Business Development in Missouri. Before American Water, she was program manager of Program Planning for the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, founded Losli Engineering, LLC, and served as Water Regional Global Practice Leader at Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company.

Eisenloeffel has been vice president of Operations for Illinois American Water since 2024. He brings more than 20 years of leadership experience with American Water, starting at Missouri American Water in 2002 as an engineer, and has since held roles including senior director of Operations in St. Louis County.

"Rebecca and Brian are proven leaders who bring complementary strengths to these roles," said Cheryl Norton, executive vice president and chief operating officer of American Water. Norton said Losli's engineering, business development and state-president experience, along with her familiarity with Missouri, would be invaluable as she returns to lead Missouri American Water, and that Eisenloeffel's operational expertise and relationships across Illinois make him well suited to lead Illinois American Water.

American Water's Recent Deal Activity

American Water completed the $315 million acquisition of Nexus Water Group systems across eight states on June 1, 2026, adding approximately 47,000 customer connections and 70 employees, according to akta.pro company records.
