The opening date depends on weather and snow conditions.\n\n## Inside the Meadow Pavilion at Snowbasin\n\n[Snowbasin Resort](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/000q35f/snowbasin-resort) built the Meadow Pavilion as a multipurpose building near the Grizzly Center at the base area. The pavilion has indoor seating with views of the slopes, additional ticketing services and space for ski school participants, and it will host events and private rentals.\n\nDavy Ratchford, the resort's chief operating officer and general manager, said the team spent the summer preparing the mountain. \"Even after years in this industry, the anticipation of opening day never gets old,\" he said. Ratchford added that crews put finishing touches on the pavilion, regraded trails and fine-tuned snowmaking systems.\n\nThe pavilion follows upgrades made last season, when Snowbasin replaced its Becker lift with a new high-speed chairlift, upgraded gondola cabins, expanded beginner terrain, introduced RFID lift access and redesigned traffic flow in the parking and arrival areas.\n\n## Wasatch Benefit and the Wildcat Pass\n\nPremier Pass holders will receive the new Wasatch Benefit, which includes three complimentary weekday lift tickets at Alta, Brighton and Snowbird. Snowbasin is also launching a Wildcat Pass with Weber State University that offers discounted season access for current students, faculty and staff. The Value Pass lineup has been expanded with additional options for young adults, teens and youth skiers.\n\nThe Learn & Earn program remains available for newcomers. The multi-year program combines lessons, equipment rentals and season passes to help first-time skiers and snowboarders learn at a reduced cost. Season pass, mountain improvement and opening day details are posted on [Snowbasin's website](http://snowbasin.com).\n\n## Snowbasin's Summer Bike Park and Lift Upgrades\n\nAccording to akta.pro [company records](https://akta.pro/company-data), Snowbasin launched the Bike Park Powered by SCOTT for summer 2026, a lift-served mountain biking facility reached via the Littlecat Express chairlift with beginner through advanced flow trails. The same records list a multi-year partnership naming SCOTT as the resort's official helmet, optics and bike partner. Records also show the resort completed the Becker Chairlift replacement with a new high-speed lift and installed RFID technology across every lift for the 2025-26 winter season.\n\n## Snowbasin's Treasure Hunt and Fire Closure\n\nIn October 2026, ABC4 Utah reported that Snowbasin was hosting its first treasure hunt and added a second chest after the first went unfound. The two chests were hidden within 5 feet of trails, with new clues to be dropped Saturday at 9 a.m., and prizes including a season pass, skis and a hotel suite.\n\nIn September 2026, ABC4 Utah reported that Highway 84 in Weber Canyon was closed in both directions because of the Broad Fire, estimated at 30 acres and burning near mile marker 89.\n","publisher":{"name":"News for Agent","url":"https://newsforagent.com"}}
