[Johnson](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/00033dv/johnson-johnson-services-inc) & Johnson said on November 7, 2026 that patient experience data from its Phase 2 DAHLIAS study of nipocalimab in Sjögren's disease show mouth dryness was the symptom improvement that mattered most to patients, cited by 96% of those surveyed. [Stock Titan](https://www.stocktitan.net/news/JNJ/johnson-johnson-announces-new-phase-2-nipocalimab-study-data-in-goetdufy174b.html) reported the findings, which are among 23 abstracts on nipocalimab to be presented at the American College of Rheumatology Convergence 2026.

## What The DAHLIAS Exit Interviews Found

Johnson & Johnson, the New Brunswick-based pharmaceutical and medical technology group, said the interviews were conducted with participants after the Phase 2 study's treatment period. Of 163 DAHLIAS participants, 49, or 30.1%, completed the exit interviews while still blinded and pooled across treatment arms. The analysis used 60-minute, one-to-one semi-structured qualitative exit interviews conducted within two weeks after the 24-week treatment period, with blinded, independent researchers and thematic analysis.

Five core symptoms were most frequently reported: mouth dryness at 96%, fatigue at 92%, eye dryness at 90%, joint pain at 73% and, among women, vaginal dryness at 49%. Nearly three-quarters of participants, 73.5%, reported being satisfied or very satisfied with study treatment.

"Patients told us that Sjögren's disease affects nearly every aspect of daily life, with mouth dryness emerging as both the most frequently reported symptom and the symptom most often prioritized, among those asked, for improvement," said Ghaith Noaiseh, M.D., Associate Professor, Allergy, Clinical Immunology, and Rheumatology, The University of Kansas Medical Center.

Johnson & Johnson said the findings helped inform the design of the ongoing Phase 3 study of nipocalimab in Sjögren's disease. The company also cited previously reported Phase 2 data showing an improvement in objective salivary flow, at least a 50% increase from baseline, in more than twice as many patients in the high-dose nipocalimab group at 15 mg/kg compared with placebo, 33% versus 16%, at Week 24.
