Nickel and Power Lift DMCI Holdings Results
DMCI Holdings is a Philippine holding company whose subsidiaries span construction, real estate, coal mining and power generation, nickel mining, off-grid power, water distribution and cement manufacturing, according to company records. The company said the nine-month gain came from record contributions from nickel mining and electricity generation.
Contributions from its on-grid and off-grid power units rose 42 percent to P5.9 billion. The electricity business alone climbed 51 percent to P4.8 billion, while the coal share fell 46 percent to P1.5 billion. Semirara Mining and Power Corp. still provided P6.3 billion, up 8 percent, on stronger on-grid power earnings. The company said Semirara's mining operations face uncertainty because its contract is set to lapse in July 2027 and planned coal mine bidding has been delayed.
DMCI Mining posted an all-time high contribution of P2 billion, up from P726 million, on higher production and shipment volumes and stronger nickel prices. Property arm DMCI Homes contributed P3.1 billion, 21 percent higher than P2.6 billion, on a higher-value project mix and rental income. DMCI Power reached a record P1.1 billion after stronger energy sales, wind generation and capacity expansions in Masbate and Antique. Maynilad contributions fell to P2.2 billion from P2.8 billion after a reduction in DMCI Holdings' effective ownership interest. Maynilad allocated P27.5 billion in capital expenditures for 2027 to bolster water security and reduce nonrevenue water, the Inquirer reported on November 6, 2026.
