VeriSilicon Holdings announced GCNanoOptimaV, a next-generation 2.5D GPU IP for portable devices, on November 5, 2026. The Shanghai-listed company said the IP has already been adopted by several leading industry clients. PR Newswire carried the announcement.

How GCNanoOptimaV Targets Wearable Graphics

VeriSilicon said GCNanoOptimaV is designed for the graphics demands of portable devices, using dedicated hardware acceleration engines and a memory-optimized architecture. The IP includes specific hardware engines for stroke and ellipse rendering to address performance bottlenecks in vector graphics, and a mesh rendering architecture that reduces on-chip SRAM requirements for integration into resource-constrained SoCs.

GCNanoOptimaV integrates VeriSilicon's DECNano 3.0 compression engine, which the company said improves image quality while maintaining a fixed 2:1 compression ratio. The GPU retains compatibility with VeriSilicon's VGLite graphics API and supports frameworks and formats including LVGL, SVG and PNG, which the company said eases migration of existing applications with minimal modifications.

FinanzNachrichten.de described the IP as aimed at wearables and reported that it has been adopted by multiple leading customers.

VeriSilicon's Earlier Wearable IP Moves

According to akta.pro company records, VeriSilicon closed the acquisition of Pixelworks Semiconductor Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. for approximately $51 million in January 2026, adding Pixelworks' semiconductor design capabilities to its portfolio. In November 2025, VeriSilicon and Google jointly launched the open-source Coral NPU IP based on the RISC-V ISA, targeting always-on ultra-low-power edge AI applications in wearables and IoT.

Prior Launches and Partnerships

In October 2026, VeriSilicon announced GLTiny, a GPU programming model for 3D graphics on low-power portable devices, featuring a simplified API and lightweight driver and supporting glTF rendering and hybrid 2.5D graphics with VGLite, PR Newswire reported. In July 2026, VeriSilicon partnered with LVGL to integrate its low-power 3D and VGLite 2.5D GPU technology into the LVGL graphics library, with Actions Technology among the first to adopt the solution in its smart watch SoCs, AETOSWire reported. Also in July 2026, VeriSilicon announced that QDay Technology joined its watch GUI ecosystem to develop smart watch GUI solutions, AETOSWire reported.
