Broco Energy has been awarded two five-year statewide fuel contracts through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, covering ultra-low sulfur diesel, biodiesel, renewable diesel, heating oil and eligible liquid biofuel for public entities. The awards were announced by PR Newswire on November 4, 2026.

What the Massachusetts Contracts Cover

The two awards are ENE53, covering ultra-low sulfur diesel, biodiesel and renewable diesel, and ENE58, covering No. 2 heating oil and APS-eligible liquid biofuel. Eligible municipalities, government agencies and other public entities across Massachusetts can purchase fuel through the state's established procurement program under the contracts.

Broco Energy is a Massachusetts-based, Veteran-Owned Small Business founded in 2007 by U.S. Navy Seabee Veteran and retired Massachusetts Fire Captain Robert Brown. The company supplies and distributes petroleum products, renewable fuels, lubricants, propane and heating oil, and operates the largest rail-served biodiesel terminal in the Northeast.

Broco Energy became the first company to supply and deliver renewable diesel for Massport's first-of-its-kind renewable diesel initiative, according to the announcement. The ENE58 contract builds on the company's work supplying heating oil and eligible liquid biofuels to customers throughout Massachusetts through its Bioheat heating oil offerings.

"We appreciate the Commonwealth's confidence in Broco Energy and the opportunity to continue serving public entities across Massachusetts," said Robert Brown, President of Broco Energy. "Our team understands how important dependable fuel delivery is to the communities and organizations we serve."

Broco Energy's Government Contract Record

According to akta.pro company records, Broco Energy secured New England's first renewable diesel supply contract with the Massachusetts Port Authority in December 2025, a one-year, 1.2 million-gallon agreement effective December 1, 2025. The same records show the company operates the largest rail-served biodiesel terminal in the Northeast with 500,000-gallon storage capacity and 45 railcar staging tracks.

The company also provides ground fuels of petroleum products for all VA medical facilities in New England and the tristate area under a three-year, $54 million contract, the same records show.

Boston and Massport Deals Preceded the Statewide Awards

In July 2026, Broco Energy was selected as the City of Boston's official heating oil provider under a three-year contract effective July 1, 2026, PR Newswire reported. Third News also covered the selection, describing it as a significant municipal contract for the energy company.

The Massport renewable diesel contract, effective December 1, 2025, marked the company's entry into a new clean-fuel product category, according to akta.pro company records.

What the Contract Terms Set Next

Broco Energy said it looks forward to serving eligible public entities throughout both five-year contract terms. The company's Bioheat heating oil offerings remain part of its work supplying heating oil and eligible liquid biofuels to Massachusetts customers.
