## Carrell's Path From Support Technician to Department Lead

Carrell joined [GEO Jobe](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/0009z13/geo-jobe) in 2023 as a support technician, building a foundation in Esri technologies, GIS troubleshooting and geospatial problem-solving. He then served as a GIS innovations engineer, a GIS solutions engineer and deputy director of GIS services. In the director role, Carrell will help clients strengthen their GIS operations and identify practical opportunities to apply artificial intelligence to classic GIS consulting, connecting those capabilities to each client's business needs.

Danny Menikheim, chief operating officer at GEO Jobe, said Carrell had contributed to several teams and excelled in each role. "Our customers are exploring the complexities of enterprise and cloud GIS while evaluating what AI means for their organizations. Roy will play an integral role in helping them navigate these changes and succeed," Menikheim said. Carrell's primary focus will be furthering GEO Jobe's AI and MCP stance, alongside improving internal workflows, expanding the department's capabilities and introducing technologies that help the team deliver more efficient, scalable solutions.

"One of my biggest goals is to continue pushing the boundaries of what GIS Services can provide. GIS is evolving rapidly, and I believe there are tremendous opportunities to combine traditional geospatial technologies with modern development frameworks, automation, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence," Carrell said. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Geography from The University of Southern Mississippi.
