[Business Insider](https://www.businessinsider.com/canva-reorganization-layoffs-ceo-memo-2026-11) published the memo, titled \"An important update on our team,\" on November 3, 2026.\n\n## Perkins's Memo and the Three Changes at Canva\n\nPerkins wrote that the design software company will bring Product, Growth and Platform together into one Product Org, reduce subspecialisation and collapse layers, and co-locate closely connected teams. Sydney will become the primary home for more of Canva's product teams, and from January most Hybrid Canvanauts are expected to spend around 2 to 3 days in the office each week.\n\n\"This is without doubt the hardest moment in our thirteen-year history,\" Perkins wrote in the memo. She said the year has been the company's \"hardest year yet\" and that \"growth has slowed for the first time in a decade.\" Canva changed its 2026 revenue growth forecast from 30% to 20% in August.\n\nCanva said everyone affected will receive at least six months of salary, inclusive of statutory entitlements, regardless of location. The company is removing the one-year vesting cliff for those who joined in the past year and providing twelve months of continued healthcare coverage in countries where it currently provides this, along with twelve months of Canva Care extending to family members. Departing employees can keep their Canva MacBook, and the Canva Collective Fund will provide US$10,000 grants to those who want to start something of their own, with registration of interest open until December 14.\n\n## Canva's Leadership and Funding Records\n\nAccording to akta.pro [company records](https://akta.pro/company-data), Canva replaced outgoing CTO Brendan Humphreys, who had a 12-year tenure, with Simon Newton, a former Google and Uber executive, in June 2026. The same records list 265 million monthly active users as of 2026 and 31 million paying subscribers as of May 2026, and put total funding at $2.5 billion.\n\n## Earlier Reports on Canva's Restructuring\n\nThe Times of India reported on November 2, 2026 that Canva might announce another round of layoffs in November, with a hiring freeze also possible, following March 2025 cuts. ABC reported on November 3, 2026 that the restructure would cut jobs for over 1,200 people.\n\n## Canva's All Hands Meetings\n\nCanva will hold a Company All Hands on November 10 to discuss the changes and answer questions, with Org All Hands taking place from November 11.\n","publisher":{"name":"News for Agent","url":"https://newsforagent.com"}}
