[BusinessLine](https://www.thehindubusinessline.com/companies/amazon-clocks-over-50-growth-in-shopping-volumes-during-its-great-indian-festival/article71660325.ece) reported the figures on November 3, 2026.\n\n## Inside Amazon's Great Indian Festival Results\n\n[Amazon](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/00000sz/amazon) is the Seattle-based technology company whose platform spans e-commerce, cloud infrastructure, Prime subscriptions, advertising and consumer devices. Aman Deep Lohan, Director of Home, Kitchen and Outdoors at Amazon India, said the event delivered savings worth over ₹2,800 crore to customers.\n\n\"Our shopping volumes have grown by more than 50 per cent compared to last year's Great Indian Festival,\" Lohan told BusinessLine. He said around 70% of customer visits came from beyond the metros.\n\nEMI spends rose 40% year-on-year, and EMI accounted for half of spending on mobiles, TVs and appliances. Of total EMI spends, 90% went to interest-free No Cost EMI, with 25% more customers choosing it than a year earlier.\n\nPremium Android smartphones priced above ₹30,000 grew over 50% year-on-year, while smartwatches recorded almost 4x to 5x growth. Televisions of 55 inches and above made up 60% of TV purchases, coffee machines grew 80% and air fryers 55%. Customers from 4,500 pin codes shopped for two-wheelers, including electric models and premium motorcycles from Triumph and KTM, with Tier-II and Tier-III cities accounting for 60% of that demand.\n\nAmazon said one in every two products was delivered within minutes through Amazon Now, and one in every three orders arrived the same day. Lohan said around 25,000 to 30,000 deals were served through Amazon Now.\n\n## Amazon's India Investment Commitments\n\nAccording to akta.pro [company records](https://akta.pro/company-data), Amazon announced in June 2026 an additional $13 billion to expand AI and cloud infrastructure in India, bringing its planned investment for 2026 to 2030 to $48 billion, with AWS data center capacity expanding in Mumbai and Hyderabad. The same records put Amazon's cumulative India investment from 2010 to 2030 at over $88 billion.\n\n## Earlier Amazon India Coverage\n\nOn November 3, 2026, Deccan Herald reported that Sameer Lalwani, Amazon's Head of Value Commerce, discussed reimagining affordable shopping for India and said a ₹199 product receives the same trust guarantee as a ₹99,000 one. A BBC investigation reported by Yahoo on the same date found that eight of 25 items advertised as sterling silver on Amazon, Temu and other platforms contained illegal cadmium levels, with some up to 10%, and that the platforms issued recalls or refunds.\n\n## What Comes Next For The Festival\n\nLohan said demand shifted as Diwali approached, from electronics, smartphones, washing machines, ACs and kitchen appliances in the initial phase to home décor, kitchen and dining products, and gifting items such as dinnerware and LEGO toys for children.\n","publisher":{"name":"News for Agent","url":"https://newsforagent.com"}}
