[GlobeNewswire](https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2026/11/03/3393931/0/en/global-pharmaceutical-company-commits-to-a-dual-site-deal-with-agc-biologics-exceeding-0-5-billion.html) published the announcement on November 3, 2026.\n\n## What the Copenhagen Expansion Covers\n\nThe expanded agreement covers multi-product drug substance manufacturing for the six programs at [AGC Biologics](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/0002r9i/agc-biologics)' Copenhagen facility, spanning process transfer, scale-up, validation and commercial production. Products will launch and move between facilities through several dual regulatory submissions, which the company said optimizes capacity, cost and local manufacturing benefits.\n\nThe arrangement builds on an existing agreement anchored at the company's Yokohama site in Japan, which holds five commercial biologics programs. AGC Biologics said running multiple sites as one integrated supply node lets both companies shift production between locations as needs change.\n\n\"This customer is building a more resilient, more flexible supply chain, and they've chosen to do that with us across two continents,\" said Alberto Santagostino, President and CEO of AGC Biologics. He said two customers have already decided to co-launch their products from both the Seattle and Copenhagen facilities.\n\nTadashi Murano, President of AGC Life Science Company, said the six additional programs follow five brought to Yokohama. \"Our focus stays on building lasting and trust-based relationships with our pharmaceutical customers,\" he said.\n\nThe company said its [Copenhagen site](http://www.agcbio.com) teams have 25 years of drug substance development and GMP manufacturing experience, and that customers using the site have received a total of over 50 commercial approvals from more than 20 regulatory agencies. A 2024 expansion at the site added 18,000 square meters, including eight 2,000-liter single-use bioreactor production lines, one 500-liter perfusion bioreactor and two downstream purification lines.\n\n## AGC Biologics' Single-Use Capacity Record\n\nAccording to akta.pro [company records](https://akta.pro/company-data), AGC Biologics operates seven global sites across the U.S., Europe and Asia and serves more than 250 biopharma and biotech customers. The same records list more than 100 successful regulatory inspections by bodies including the FDA, EMA and PMDA, and more than 30 years of GMP experience. In April 2025 the company added 5,000-liter vessels from Thermo Scientific to its new Yokohama facility.\n\n## Earlier Manufacturing Agreements\n\nIn September 2026, Flen Health selected AGC Biologics to manufacture recombinant lactoperoxidase and glucose oxidase for a wound treatment, with the Heidelberg facility producing at 100- and 1,000-liter scales to support an IND and Phase II trials, FinancialContent Business Page reported. In July 2026, GlobeNewswire reported that AGC Biologics signed a multi-year commercial manufacturing contract for its Yokohama facility with an undisclosed pharmaceutical company, securing half of the facility's mammalian cell manufacturing capacity. In May 2026, Contractpharma reported that AGC Biologics joined Orphan Therapeutics Accelerator's Clinical Development Network as a manufacturing partner.\n","publisher":{"name":"News for Agent","url":"https://newsforagent.com"}}
