Red Cat Holdings signed a memorandum of understanding with Sine Advanced Engineering, the U.S. business of Ukraine-rooted Sine Engineering, to integrate resilient communications and navigation technologies into its autonomous platforms. GlobeNewswire published the announcement on November 2, 2026. No financial terms were disclosed.

What the Red Cat and Sine MOU Covers

The agreement sets a framework for a long-term commercial and technology relationship. Sine's technologies include resilient communications, video and control links, GPS-independent positioning, networking and infrastructure for connected unmanned systems. Red Cat intends to integrate them into its Blue Ops uncrewed surface vessels and Red Cat Aerial UAV platforms, so unmanned systems can keep command and control, video and data links, and positioning in GPS-denied and communications-contested environments.

The companies intend to evaluate the capabilities across interconnected aerial and maritime platforms, including USVs, buoys, beacons and other distributed infrastructure. Under the MOU, they plan to focus first on maritime platforms and distributed networking infrastructure while exploring Red Cat's broader portfolio. Integration and field work are already underway, and initial integration with Sine technology has been crucial to Red Cat's work in Ukraine with its Hellcat platform.

"Ukraine has become one of the world's most important proving grounds for drone communications and electronic warfare," said Jeff Thompson, CEO of Red Cat. "This partnership shows how companies can combine battlefield-tested technology with U.S.-designed and manufactured drones to deliver critical capabilities to our warfighters and allies."

Mark Edgar, Co-CEO of Sine Advanced Engineering, described the arrangement as non-exclusive. "Sine brings technology developed and tested in Ukraine under the realities of modern electronic warfare," he said. "Red Cat's combination of American manufacturing, air and maritime platforms, and all-domain vision makes it a powerful partner to bring these capabilities to U.S. and allied forces."

Sine Engineering has developed resilient communications, navigation and onboard autonomy for contested environments since 2022, with offices and R&D centers in Ukraine, the United States and Finland. In October 2026, Sine launched a joint initiative with Finland to develop dual-use technologies in the Nordic country, Yahoo reported.

Red Cat's Funding and Product Record

The same records list total funding of $495.1 million and six funding rounds. In June 2026 the company introduced the Hellcat dual-use sUAS at Eurosatory 2026, built on the Black Widow platform with Ukrainian warfighter feedback.
