CoVolt Power promoted Souzi Weiland to chief people and culture officer, effective immediately, the company said in a Business Wire announcement. Weiland, previously senior vice president of people and culture, continues to report to President and Chief Executive Officer Robert L. Tabb and serves on the executive leadership team.
Weiland's Expanded People Strategy Mandate
In the expanded role, Weiland leads CoVolt's enterprise people strategy, covering workforce planning, talent acquisition, leadership development and executive succession. The company said her mandate is to build the workforce and leadership capacity CoVolt needs to support its growth across field and corporate operations.
Weiland brings more than 20 years of human resources and organizational leadership experience across the energy value chain. Before joining CoVolt, she held senior human capital and talent leadership roles at Chesapeake Energy (now Expand Energy), Anadarko Petroleum and Enbridge, where she led enterprise talent strategy, leadership development and organizational design.
Tabb tied the appointment to the company's staffing needs. "CoVolt's growth depends on having the right people, the right leaders and the right culture in place to deliver," he said. "Souzi has the experience to build that capability at scale, and I am pleased to have her on the executive team in this role."
Weiland said the workforce will shape how the company performs as it expands. "I am honored to take on this role," she said. "As CoVolt grows, our ability to attract, develop and retain strong people will determine how well we perform. I look forward to working with our leaders to build that foundation."
CoVolt describes itself as an integrated engineering, procurement and construction power platform serving the power and digital infrastructure sectors, with capabilities in solar, battery energy storage and high-voltage transmission. The Houston-headquartered company states that it has built more than 35.4 GW of operational assets across 34 states since its founding in 2005 and has a workforce of 1,000+ employees, according to its website.
