The Kestrel discovery returned 15 metres at 8.6 grams per tonne gold and 0.54% copper from 78 metres, including 2 metres at 56.7 grams per tonne gold, [TradingView](https://www.tradingview.com/news/smallcaps:5195018bf094b:0-chalice-mining-strikes-new-high-grade-kestrel-copper-gold-discovery-at-warrego-north/) reported on November 2, 2026.\n\n## Inside the Kestrel Drill Results\n\nThe initial reverse circulation program comprised 16 holes for 3,108 metres across several targets after land access and heritage requirements were resolved and tenure was granted in May. All six holes drilled at Kestrel encountered copper mineralisation, including broad zones of 27 metres at 0.57% copper and 24 metres at 0.52% copper in separate holes.\n\nThe discovery interval of 27 metres at 0.42% copper and 4.83 grams per tonne gold owes much of its gold grade to a narrow 2-metre high-grade section, which accounts for approximately 87% of the contained gold in that interval. A peak one-metre sample returned 99.9 grams per tonne gold and a laboratory check assay returned 85.8 grams per tonne, with further testing pending to assess the possible influence of coarse gold.\n\nWide-spaced drilling has encountered shallow copper mineralisation across approximately 500 metres of strike, with the system remaining open along strike and at depth. Kestrel sits within a west-northwest-trending magnetic corridor extending approximately 2.2 kilometres, of which drilling has so far tested only about 500 metres. Two parallel trends remain untested and the approximately 1-kilometre corridor between Kestrel and the nearby Chook prospect has yet to be drilled.\n\n\"Tennant Creek is one of Australia's most prolific copper-gold districts, which has been constrained by land access further west of the historical Warrego mine,\" managing director Alex Dorsch said. \"We have now shown that prospectivity for mineral systems extends well beyond the previous limits, and […] have expanded our tenure position considerably to cover what we now believe is highly prospective geology.\"\n\n## Chalice's Gonneville Funding Position\n\n[Chalice Mining](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/000kzft/chalice-mining) is an Australian ASX-listed critical minerals explorer-developer advancing the 100%-owned Gonneville Palladium-Nickel-Copper Project in Western Australia toward a targeted H1 CY28 Final Investment Decision, with first production expected in early 2030, according to akta.pro [company records](https://akta.pro/company-data). The same records show a December 2025 Pre-Feasibility Study outlining a Stage 1 capital cost of A$820M, a payback of about 2.7 years and cumulative pre-tax free cash flow of A$4.7bn over mine life.\n\n## Chalice's Path to the Kestrel Program\n\nChalice presented at the Noosa Mining Conference 2026 on July 23, 2026, with a slide deck published by the company in conjunction with the event, Seeking Alpha reported. Simply Wall St profiled Chalice on July 5, 2026 in a stock screener spotlight covering three ASX-listed penny stocks. Farmonaut published an article on June 10, 2026 examining seven ways sustainable mining practices affect farmland, using Chalice as a primary case study.\n\n## Kestrel Survey and Drilling Next Steps\n\nA detailed ground gravity survey is due to begin in coming weeks across Kestrel, Chook and surrounding areas to define targets ahead of step-out and infill drilling. Chalice is planning further surface geochemistry, mineralogical studies, and RC and diamond drilling, with assays still pending from eight holes at other nearby targets. The company has expanded its tenure across a potential 140-kilometre interpreted western extension of the Tennant Creek geological province.\n","publisher":{"name":"News for Agent","url":"https://newsforagent.com"}}
