Super Chix Exits Its Cordova Mall Restaurant

"Permanently closed" signage was posted on the restaurant's doors inside the mall as of October 30, and the exterior logo was removed. The Pensacola restaurant was Florida's first Super Chix when it opened in 2023, and no other Florida restaurants remain. The closest Super Chix is now in Hoover, Alabama.

SUPER CHIX is a privately held, franchise-led premium fast-casual chain serving fresh, never-frozen chicken sandwiches, tenders, hand-cut fries and in-house-churned frozen custard, according to company records. The chain was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Plano, with Darryl Neider as CEO and Nick Ouimet as founder.

Super Chix built its menu around about a dozen chicken sandwich variations, available grilled or hand-breaded, including Nashville Hot, Cordon Bleu and Bacavo Ranch. The chain also served house-churned frozen custard in hand-spun shakes, Cold Fusions and custard cups.

The closure comes months after competitor Raising Cane's moved in across the parking lot at 5110 N. Ninth Ave. over the summer. Raising Cane's is known for cooked-to-order chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries and its signature Cane's sauce.

Super Chix's National Footprint

According to akta.pro company records, SUPER CHIX operates 46 US locations in 23 or more states, with more than 300 units in development. The chain reported an average unit volume above $2 million and a valuation estimate of $100 million to $250 million, with total funding of $1 million from a 2020 round.

In December 2025, Super Chix opened its 46th system-wide location in West Ashley, South Carolina, capping 2025 with 13 new restaurant openings, roughly 40% unit growth in a single calendar year. The West Ashley restaurant was the chain's fourth South Carolina location, with franchisees Todd Justice and Scott Coffman and an operating team headed by Jeremy Tuberville.

In April 2026, Super Chix launched Ghost Pepper Nuggets with Yellowbird sauces, the brand's first official nuggets item on the in-store menu and its first product collaboration featuring Yellowbird sauce.
