A buyer of 10 tons of HDGC, such as a roofing sheet or appliance maker, will now save about Rs. 80,000 per order, while the same quantity of CRC costs around Rs. 60,000 less.\n\nWhether these savings reach consumers depends on manufacturers passing on the lower input costs, but the cut eases pressure on local industries that rely on flat steel.
