Inside the OSF HealthCare and Kelly Practice Merger
About 30 people gathered at the newly named office near St. Paul Baptist Church, where the Rev. Fredi Gomez-Torres blessed the facility with holy water. Kelly described the merger as emotional after 25 years in private practice and said she is excited to focus more on her patients rather than the business side, which the hospital system will now handle.
"They listened to me and respected what I felt," Kelly said. "They respected me as far as knowing that I was coming from private practice."
The practice will remain at its current location in Peoria. Its phone number, (309) 688-7010, and its normal hours, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., will stay the same, and patients with previously scheduled appointments do not need to take any action. Kelly said the turnout for the blessing ceremony meant a lot to her. "Oh, gosh, I thought there might be ten people here, so it's amazing," she said. "Very, very emotional." Kelly also said there are fewer OB-GYNs than there used to be, and that she is proud to provide this care to the Peoria area.
