Power Grid Names Pankaj Pandey Director (Operations) Effective December 1, 2026

Power Grid Corporation of India has appointed Pankaj Pandey as Director (Operations), effective December 1, 2026, with tenure until his superannuation on June 30, 2030. ScanX reported the appointment, which the Ministry of Power approved through Order No. 25-11/7/2025-PG dated October 30, 2026.

Pandey Moves From Executive Director to Operations Chief

Pandey is currently serving as Executive Director at the company. The appointment takes effect from December 1, 2026, subject to his assumption of charge on or after that date. He will hold the position until June 30, 2030, or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.

The company disclosed the change in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. Power Grid stated that further details regarding the appointment will be informed in due course upon Pandey's assumption of charge. The order notes that the role continues until further orders or superannuation.

Transmission Orders Build Before the Handover

Power Grid's recent project activity includes the commissioning of the Renewable Energy Zone transmission scheme in Karnataka on October 23, 2026, covering the Koppal-II and Gadag-II regions, ScanX reported. On October 16, 2026, Power Grid received a letter of intent for the Pune West transmission project in Maharashtra on a BOOT basis for ₹199.55 crore, according to CNBC TV18. Whalesbook reported on October 23, 2026 that Power Grid holds a record unexecuted order book of Rs 2.2 lakh crore, with a capital spending target of Rs 37,000 crore for FY27.

Power Grid chairman Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra urged cable and wire manufacturers to expand capabilities as transmission capital expenditure is expected to rise, The Times of India reported on October 28, 2026.

December 1 Start Date Set for Operations Role

Pandey's appointment becomes effective on December 1, 2026, upon his assumption of charge. The company said further details on the appointment will be informed upon that assumption of charge.
