## Key takeaways

- FluidCloud launched vHOP, a self-service VMware exit package that maps estates, translates NSX firewall policy and generates Terraform without the VMware VDDK.
- vHOP supports AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Nutanix, and is available now in the FluidCloud platform and AWS Marketplace.
- CEO Sharad Kumar said vHOP gets firewall rules and dependencies mapped and turned into Terraform in three days.

[FluidCloud](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/0000ve7/fluidcloud) launched vHOP, a self-service VMware exit package, on October 27, 2026, according to [citybiz](https://www.citybiz.co/article/924904/fluidcloud-launches-vhop-a-vmware-exit-package-for-enterprises-that-dont-depend-on-broadcoms-vddk/). The package maps an entire VMware estate, translates NSX firewall policy and generates executable Terraform for the target cloud without using the VMware Virtual Disk Development Kit (VDDK) and before any workload data moves.

## How vHOP Maps a VMware Estate

vHOP produces the target architecture, firewall migration plan and infrastructure code needed to begin an exit, rather than stopping at inventory. It supports AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Nutanix. The package is available now in the FluidCloud platform, which customers can also buy through AWS Marketplace.

In late August, [Broadcom](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/0003vsd/broadcom-formerly-avago-technologies) took down the public download pages for VDDK. Broadcom has since said the kit's licensed use "has always been backup and recovery" and that it "is not a customer entitlement." Many agentless migration tools have depended on VDDK to read virtual disks, so organizations partway through an exit are re-planning around in-guest agents or cold copies, often with a VMware renewal date approaching.

FluidCloud said NSX's distributed firewall ships with a default rule that allows all traffic, while AWS security groups support only allow rules, so NSX deny rules need a new home. The three-day, engineer-led version of vHOP delivers agentless, read-only discovery of VMs, networks, NSX groups and firewall policies through the vCenter and NSX Manager APIs, a review of which migration, backup and DR tools depend on VDDK, a firewall migration plan that flags where target quotas will be hit, Terraform modules for the destination cloud and a recommended data path for each workload group.

"Losing VDDK made copying disks harder, but the disk copy was rarely what held these projects up," said Sharad Kumar, co-founder and CEO of FluidCloud. "It's the firewall rules, the security groups and the dependencies nobody wrote down that push a migration past the renewal date. vHOP gets those mapped and turned into Terraform in three days, so a team knows what it's actually moving before it picks a tool to copy the disks."

## FluidCloud's Terraform Engine and Seed Funding

According to akta.pro [company records](https://akta.pro/company-data), FluidCloud released its Large Infrastructure Model in March 2026, an AI engine for generating, translating and validating Terraform across multicloud environments that scored 0.58 on the BLEU benchmark against a 0.60 human-level reference. The same records show the company raised a $8.1 million seed round in July 2025 led by Unusual Ventures, with participation from U First Capital, and emerged from stealth that month.

## Cohesity, Pythian and Oracle Terraform Moves

Cohesity said on October 27, 2026 that HashiCorp, an IBM company, validated its cloud rebuild capabilities with Terraform Self-Managed, the first cloud recovery method IBM has validated for interoperability with Terraform Self-Managed, [PR Newswire APAC](https://en.prnasia.com/story/553315-0.shtml) reported. Pythian released open-source assets with Google Cloud enabling Gemini agents to interact with Oracle ERP systems, with automated Terraform scripts cutting Oracle EBS, JD Edwards and PeopleSoft migration to about three hours, [EIN Presswire](https://www.einnews.com/pr_news/951325101/pythian-announces-integration-with-gemini-to-help-accelerate-cloud-migration-for-oracle-applications) reported on October 26, 2026. Oracle introduced the Fusion Setup and Configuration Registry, a public Git repository for AI-driven setup of Fusion Cloud Applications, [Stock Titan](https://www.stocktitan.net/news/ORCL/oracle-introduces-ai-agent-ready-fusion-applications-setup-and-6rh1luij29eg.html) reported the same day.
