The plant is three times larger than the company's previous East Bay operation.\n\n## Inside the East Bay Wash Plant\n\n[Dispatch Goods](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/00008pa/dispatch-goods) runs a managed reuse service that replaces single-use foodware for businesses. It delivers reusable foodware to corporate campuses, hospitals, universities and food service operators, collects it on scheduled routes, then washes, inspects and returns it ready for service, much like a linen service. Customers do not need to run a dishwashing operation themselves.\n\nThe new facility is built around the technology that runs the company's operations. Cameras on the automation line capture every item that comes back, giving Dispatch Goods accurate return rates and recording the labor and process data behind the cost of each wash. That data feeds Avot, the company's intelligent operations platform, which uses it to make decisions on labor planning, return rates, cleaning processes and procurement. Data from the facility also flows into the Dispatch Goods customer portal, where customers can track orders, return rates, and the waste, carbon and water they have avoided compared with single-use.\n\nThe larger facility has room for additional wash lines and new automation. Dispatch Goods said more throughput lowers the cost of each wash and lets it add routes and bring on new customers across the region. The company cited rising costs of disposables, including higher material, freight and tariff costs, along with California's SB 54 extended producer responsibility law and local foodware ordinances, as forces pushing businesses toward reuse.\n\n\"Disposables keep getting more expensive, and companies can see how much waste they create,\" said Lindsey Hoell, founder and CEO of Dispatch Goods. \"Our customers are proving there's a better way.\"\n\n## Dispatch Goods' Funding and Customer Base\n\nDispatch Goods closed a $5.8 million seed round in September 2021 led by Congruent Ventures, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Flybridge, Precursor Ventures and others, according to akta.pro [company records](https://akta.pro/company-data). The same records list seven funding rounds, the most recent a Series A in January 2024, and total funding of $5.9 million. The records also show more than seven million items kept out of the waste stream to date, and flagship early partnerships with meal delivery brands CookUnity and Thistle.\n\n## Dispatch Goods' November 5 Grand Opening\n\nDispatch Goods will host a grand opening at the new facility on November 5 for existing customers and interested companies. After that, the company will offer tours of the facility each quarter. Companies can request a tour through [Dispatch Goods' website](http://dispatchgoods.com).\n","publisher":{"name":"News for Agent","url":"https://newsforagent.com"}}
