The [FinancialContent Business Page](https://www.financialcontent.com/article/gnwcq-2026-10-27-delinea-fastpath-report-finds-84-of-organizations-using-ai-in-critical-business-applications-reported-an-ai-related-issue-in-the-past-year) carried the announcement.\n\n## What the Delinea Fastpath Survey Found\n\nThe report, titled 2026 Application Access Governance Report: Secure Now or Pay Later, draws on an independent survey of 1,000 senior finance and finance technology leaders across the US and UK, 879 of whom use AI tools or agents in critical business applications. Delinea Fastpath is the application access governance arm of [Delinea](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/0000h57/delinea), an identity security platform that controls what AI agents, humans and machines can do and for how long.\n\nThe survey compares confidence in access controls with audit history. While 95% of respondents are confident their access controls would withstand external audit scrutiny, 26% report access findings that recurred in consecutive years and 25% report findings that have stayed open for three or more years.\n\nFrank Vukovits, Chief Security Scientist at Delinea, said: \"AI agents are taking action in the applications that run your finances, and governance hasn't kept pace.\" He added: \"When an agent can approve a transaction or change permissions, the business owns the outcome. You need to know what every agent can do, who owns it and who approved it, before an auditor asks or your financials are misstated.\"\n\n## Where AI Agent Oversight Falls Short\n\nMost organizations using AI lack full, centrally tracked visibility into deployment, access, permissions, ownership and approval, according to the report. In the past 12 months, a sizable share reported AI-related segregation of duties conflicts, and agents that kept operating after the person who deployed them left the organization. Only 11% of organizations using AI say governance and security controls are keeping pace with AI deployment.\n\nOwnership is fragmented: a majority report that each access governance activity is mostly or fully automated, yet only 22% have a single named owner for each application tracked in one system of record. Over the past two years, 60% report more critical applications operating outside access governance or Sarbanes-Oxley Act scope, even as most also report bringing more applications inside it.\n\n## Delinea's Scale Behind the Fastpath Research\n\nAccording to akta.pro [company records](https://akta.pro/company-data), Delinea reported $400 million in annual recurring revenue as of March 2026 and serves 15,000+ organizations. The same records list an average annual ROI of $2.2 million per customer and a 2021 private equity round with three investors. Delinea Fastpath's access control, access review, access provisioning and change tracking capabilities automate segregation of duties analysis, user access reviews, access requests and change monitoring.\n\n## Delinea's Recent Moves on Agent Access\n\nOn October 21, 2026, Delinea announced the Fastpath MCP Server, which connects access governance data to AI assistants for natural-language queries on access risk and audit readiness, according to GlobeNewswire. The capability provides cross-application visibility across 100+ systems and is read-only, bound to user permissions.\n\nOn October 26, 2026, GlobeNewswire reported that Delinea was named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Privileged Access Management for the eighth consecutive time, and that the company introduced just-in-time runtime authorization for AI agents, securing millions of sessions weekly.\n\nThe full findings are available through Delinea's report download.\n","publisher":{"name":"News for Agent","url":"https://newsforagent.com"}}
