Likang Life Sciences sponsored and exhibited at the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit 2026, held from 20 to 22 October at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, where co-founder and vice chairman Shannon Cheung met UAE leaders and set out plans to bring its personalized cancer immunotherapies to the emirate, PR Newswire reported on October 24, 2026.

Cheung Meets UAE Leaders at Abu Dhabi Summit

Likang Life Sciences is a Beijing-based clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing personalized tumor neoantigen immunotherapies, with lead asset LK101 in NMPA, FDA and Lecheng-approved trials for advanced solid tumors including lung cancer, liver cancer and melanoma.

Cheung joined a delegation of international health leaders received by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on 20 October, and met Abu Dhabi Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during his summit visit on 21 October. In brief exchanges, Cheung shared Likang's plans to bring its personalized cancer immunotherapy technologies and investigational therapies to Abu Dhabi, with a vision to develop the emirate as a platform for international research, innovation and future expansion.

Cheung spoke on "The Future of Cancer," moderated by Dr. Tarek Fadel of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, alongside Dr. Arie Belldegrun, chairman of Bellco Health; Dr. Toni Choueiri of Harvard Medical School and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute; Prof. Dr. Angela George of The Royal Marsden; and Vinicius Ribeiro, chief executive of Huna.

"The future of cancer care is not just about treating cancer earlier, but treating every patient more precisely, personally and effectively," Cheung said. He discussed how genomics, AI, mRNA technology and advanced cell manufacturing could support therapies tailored to individual tumor biology, while underscoring scalability and patient access.

At Booth AD28, Likang presented its AI-enabled neoantigen discovery platform and investigational immunotherapy pipeline. Its lead candidate, LK101, a personalized neoantigen mRNA-dendritic cell therapeutic cancer vaccine, received clinical trial authorization from China's National Medical Products Administration in 2023 and investigational new drug clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2025.

Likang's Beijing Manufacturing and Gene+ Tie-Up

According to akta.pro company records, Likang broke ground in June 2026 on its Drug R&D and Production Center in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, including an AI+ personalized tumor vaccine production line built to international GMP standards. The same records show the company signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Beijing Gene+ Medical Laboratory in Shaoxing on December 10, 2025, integrating genomic sequencing, AI neoantigen prediction and prognostic monitoring with LK101 treatment through a "testing + treatment" dual-engine model.

Likang was founded in 2017 by a team of local PhDs and completed its Pre-A financing round in October 2019. Its pipeline lists LK101 in Phase I/II and LK201, LK301 and LK401 at the pre-clinical stage, with a Phase II clinical trial initiated in 2025 for advanced lung cancer.

Abu Dhabi Talks Continue

Likang said it is exploring opportunities in clinical research, AI-enabled precision oncology, scientific collaboration and potential future local manufacturing, building on ongoing dialogue with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and regional healthcare stakeholders. The company's own announcement describes its pipeline of personalized neoantigen therapeutic vaccines and neoantigen-specific T-cell therapies.
