Plejd expands European offering with smart motors for sun shading

Plejd will launch smart motors for sun shading across Europe, including a wireless sun and wind sensor, with the products expected to be showcased at R+T in Stuttgart on 15-19 February 2027 and launched in late 2027, news.cision.com reported on October 23, 2026.

Plejd's Smart Motors and Sensor Range

The initial range will include motors compatible with most types of sun shading, together with a wireless sun and wind sensor. The products are being tested by customers this autumn ahead of the launch in late 2027. The launch is expected in late 2027.

CEO Babak Esfahani said: "We have been working on this initiative for a long time and are now looking forward to bringing it to market. The European market for these products is much larger than for anything we have launched to date." He said the motors will be compatible with most types of sun shading, including zip screens, roller shutters and awnings. Esfahani said the installation benefits Plejd will offer are very similar to what it achieved with lighting in the Nordic region.

Plejd said the products are being tested by customers this autumn ahead of the launch in late 2027. The company said it hopes the products, together with more products and adaptations to its lighting range, will help its European expansion gain momentum and drive growth over the next 5-10 years.

Plejd's Scale and Apple Home Integration

According to akta.pro company records, Plejd integrated its products with the Apple Home ecosystem, enabling Siri voice control and presence-based automation triggers. The same records show more than two million customers use Plejd products in their homes or businesses, and over 10 million Plejd devices are in active use. Plejd reported net sales of SEK 215,349 thousand in Q3 2025, with 40.6% year-over-year growth.
