PeaceHealth ended its Quest Diagnostics lab partnership and will reopen Quest draw sites in Eugene and Springfield as in-house labs, the health system said. The University District lab reopens November 11 and the RiverBend Pavillion location reopens November 17, according to a statement shared by PeaceHealth. Yahoo published the report.

PeaceHealth Brings Eugene and Springfield Labs In-House

Quest draw sites at PeaceHealth's facilities in Eugene's University District, 1200 Hilyard St., and Springfield's RiverBend hospital have closed and will reopen as PeaceHealth labs. Quest will contact patients who already have appointments to assist with rescheduling, and staff will be at the affected locations to redirect patients. PeaceHealth has increased capacity at its South Eugene Clinic lab, 3299 Hilyard St., during the transition, and that lab is available to all patients.

The move to in-house labs ends a nearly decade-long partnership between PeaceHealth and Quest, in which PeaceHealth owned the labs and Quest managed them. PeaceHealth managed its labs in-house for decades before the Quest partnership, according to The Register-Guard archive. The 2017 deal eliminated 217 jobs in Oregon, most of which were in Lane County, and The Register-Guard's reporting said the transition also meant tests were sent to Quest labs in Seattle and other locations rather than PeaceHealth's central lab in Springfield.

Brooke Lippincott, senior vice president of ambulatory services, said PeaceHealth's move to bring outpatient lab management in-house mirrors a similar transition recently completed in Longview, Washington. PeaceHealth has hired staff for these locations. "We know access to timely, convenient lab services is an important part of a patient's care experience and we take that responsibility seriously," Lippincott said. A new Quest site will open October 26 at 65 Division Ave. Suite A in Eugene.

PeaceHealth's Lab Network and Scale

According to akta.pro company records, PeaceHealth expanded in-office phlebotomy services across Oregon and Washington clinics in June 2026 and centralized outpatient laboratory testing at the RiverBend Annex facility in Springfield, Oregon, absorbing former Quest Diagnostics phlebotomists. The same records describe PeaceHealth as a non-profit Catholic health system operating 9 medical centers and more than 160 clinics across Washington, Oregon, and Alaska, employing approximately 16,000 caregivers. PeaceHealth was founded in 1890 and is headquartered in Vancouver, USA.

Earlier PeaceHealth Moves in Oregon

On October 15, 2026, the Oregon Health Authority approved the Certificate of Need for PeaceHealth's Timber Springs Behavioral Health Hospital, a project to add 89 inpatient psychiatric beds, with annexation of 18 acres pending a Springfield council vote on November 2, Yahoo reported. Western Washington University bought the 7.5-acre former St. Luke's hospital site in Bellingham from PeaceHealth for $12.5 million, Cascadia Daily News reported. PeaceHealth named Heather Wall, MSN, RN, chief executive of its Oregon region, Becker's Hospital Review reported.

What Happens Next for Patients

Quest Diagnostics reported third-quarter revenue of $3.10 billion, beating estimates, and said a cyber breach affecting its Quanum LSM system did not materially disrupt operations, Reuters reported.
