Hitachi Energy announced a simulation capability built with NVIDIA Omniverse libraries that lets data center teams evaluate how future AI factory power systems may perform before they are built, adding to the NVIDIA DSX Sim partner ecosystem. The announcement was published by TradingView.
How the Hitachi Energy Simulation Works
The capability brings AI load scenarios and power system models into a shared digital environment, which the company said helps teams compare alternative designs, assess resilience and make decisions earlier in planning. It initially focuses on 800-volt direct current architectures, which are being developed to support the power density and efficiency requirements of next-generation AI factories. Grid-to-rack simulation is intended to give insights into system behavior and performance before deployment at scale.
Using Open USD-based workflows powered by NVIDIA Omniverse libraries, the shared environment allows engineering data and Hitachi Energy power system models to be evaluated together. The company said the goal is to support comparison of design alternatives, validation of assumptions and more informed infrastructure decisions earlier in the planning process. The work builds on Hitachi's collaboration with NVIDIA for 800 VDC AI factories and follows the qualification of Hitachi Energy's battery energy storage system as NVIDIA DSX Ready BESS.
"AI is rapidly becoming an infrastructure challenge as much as a computing challenge," said Marco Berardi, Head of Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service at Hitachi Energy. "As AI factories scale, access to electricity, power system design and the ability to deploy infrastructure at speed are becoming increasingly important."
Hitachi Energy's Transformer and HVDC Records
According to akta.pro company records, Hitachi Energy is investing Rs 20 billion, about INR 2,000 crore, to build a Large Power Transformer factory in Vadodara, India, creating over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs and scheduled for completion in FY2028 to serve HVDC, data center and industrial customers. The same records list a €770 million contract awarded in June 2026 by Italian grid operator Terna and Tunisia's STEG for the Elmed HVDC submarine link, a 600 MW, 220 km connection across the Strait of Sicily.
Deals Leading to the NVIDIA Simulation
