Systems Technology, Inc. has achieved CMMC Level 2 certification with a perfect score, following an assessment by an independent Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization. The Hawthorne, California-based simulation company announced the certification on October 22, 2026, according to EIN Presswire.
What the CMMC Level 2 Certification Covers
CMMC is a U.S. Department of Defense cybersecurity framework that ensures defense contractors and subcontractors have appropriate safeguards in place to protect Federal Contract Information and Controlled Unclassified Information. CMMC Level 2 requires organizations handling Controlled Unclassified Information to implement and maintain a comprehensive set of cybersecurity practices and processes.
"Achieving CMMC Level 2 with a perfect score is a significant accomplishment for STI and reflects the rigor we bring to protecting the information entrusted to us," said Chi-Ying Liang, Ph.D., CEO of STI. "Cybersecurity is fundamental to our ability to support our defense customers, and this certification reinforces our commitment to maintaining the highest standards as we solve complex challenges in high-stakes environments."
A defense contractor since 1957, Systems Technology, Inc. applies the principles of physics, mathematics, engineering, and human factors to develop research-backed solutions for aerospace, defense, and clinical challenges. The company says the certification strengthens its position as a partner for organizations where the security, reliability, and integrity of sensitive information are critical.
STI's Simulation and Autopilot Programs
According to akta.pro company records, STI was founded in 1957 by Duane T. McRuer and Irving L. Ashkenas and has operated for more than 65 years as a pioneer in flight control systems and human-machine interaction. The company's PARASIM parachute simulators have sold more than 400 systems worldwide across over 35 years, and its STISIM Drive driving simulation platform has served more than 800 clients in clinical and research applications for over 30 years. In January 2026, STI announced a strategic partnership with Bolder Flight Systems, Inc. to co-develop fully U.S.-manufactured autopilot systems for unmanned aircraft systems, addressing FY2025 NDAA restrictions on foreign-manufactured UAS.
How Other CMMC Audits Have Fared
HX5 LLC passed its CMMC Level 2 cybersecurity audit in early 2026, but the Pentagon suspended the requirement on July 13, 2026, TechBullion reported on October 14, 2026. HX5 spent heavily on the audit, which it says improved its systems, and CEO Margarita Howard expects the requirement or a similar one to return.
What Comes Next for STI
STI said the certification follows its independent C3PAO assessment and positions the company to support defense customers handling Controlled Unclassified Information. The company's own announcement describes the certification as reinforcing its commitment to maintaining high cybersecurity standards.
