[LBBOnline](https://lbbonline.com/news/i-just-want-to-make-people-laugh-bennet-silverman-on-signing-with-partners-film) published the news on October 22, 2026, in an interview with reporter Jordan Won Neufeldt.\n\n## Bennet Silverman's Move to Partners Film\n\nSilverman is based in Los Angeles and has built a career in comedy, with a background at Comedy Central, Funny or Die and Jimmy Kimmel Live. He has collaborated with Sony Pictures, Target, La Roche-Posay, Lenovo and Royal Kingdom. At Partners Film he will pitch for scripts and work with agency teams on brand needs, treatments and production.\n\n\"It started with a conversation, and from the first one, it felt like a real fit,\" Silverman told [LBBOnline](https://lbbonline.com/news/pulse-films-welcomes-thea-gajic-to-roster). He said the team was looking for fresh comedic voices and had a clear idea of where comedy should sit at the company.\n\nSilverman described his sensibility as character-first comedy with a very straight face, and said he is drawn to characters who believe deeply and sincerely in a terrible idea. He pointed to Canada's improv and sketch performers as what excites him most about the market, and named Gigi Realini, president and executive producer, and Aerin Barnes, managing partner and executive producer, as having a strong read on what works for brands in Canada.\n\n## Partners Film's Director Roster\n\nPartners Film has maintained a curated roster of 18 commercial directors, including Martin Werner, Lionel Goldstein, Koen Mortier and Bart Timmer, according to akta.pro [company records](https://akta.pro/company-data). The same records list the company as a member of the Association of Canadian Commercial Production and the Commercial Production Association of Western Canada. Partners Film was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in Toronto.\n\n## Recent Signings Across Production Companies\n\nPulse Films added writer and director Thea Gajić to its roster on October 12, 2026, citing her debut feature 'Surviving Earth' and a recent Transport for London campaign, LBBOnline reported. Andrew Haas joined Andrew Lauren Productions as Head of Production and Development on October 14, 2026, [Deadline](https://deadline.com/2026/10/andrew-haas-joins-andrew-lauren-productions-1237157187/) reported, after leading television slates for Alcide Bava Productions and Denver & Delilah Productions.\n\n## Silverman's Plans in Canada\n\nSilverman said he wants to pitch for great scripts and follow a great script anywhere. Asked what he hopes to accomplish in Canada in the months to come, he said: \"I just want to make people laugh.\"\n","publisher":{"name":"News for Agent","url":"https://newsforagent.com"}}
