Liberty Gold Reports 2026 Black Pine Drill Results, Mineralization Extends 200 m North
By News Desk ·
Key takeaways
- Liberty Gold's 2026 Black Pine drilling defined mineralization 200 m beyond the feasibility resource shell, extending along a northwest trend up to 400 m wide in places.
- Significant intercepts include 144.8 m at 0.36 g/t gold in hole LBP1347 and 3.0 m at 1.88 g/t gold within hole LBP1293.
- CN/FA ratios in the new drilling range from 61% to 98%, consistent with Rangefront metallurgical characteristics.
Liberty Gold reported initial drill results from its 2026 program at Black Pine in Idaho, defining mineralization 200 m beyond the feasibility resource shell and extending along a northwest trend up to 400 m wide in places. The Financial Post published the results on October 22, 2026. The company said the data identifies the mineralization as an extension of the orebody to the north and is expected to have a positive impact on the future mineral resource update.
What The Black Pine Intercepts Showed
The drilling was planned to upgrade the resource classification in an area approximately 200 m north by 600 m east-west. Significant intercepts include 144.8 m at 0.36 g/t gold in hole LBP1347, 97.5 m at 0.28 g/t gold in hole LBP1310, and 91.4 m at 0.30 g/t gold in hole LBP1293, which included 3.0 m at 1.88 g/t gold. Hole LBP1341A returned 62.5 m at 0.42 g/t gold, and hole LBP1282 returned 48.8 m at 0.39 g/t gold. Results are reported as drilled thickness, with true thickness approximately 70-100% of drilled thickness.
The CN/FA ratio, an indicator of recovery performance, ranges from 61% to 98% and is consistent with Rangefront metallurgical characteristics. A separate program characterized the Legacy Rock Storage facilities, completing 2,848 m in 73 RC holes over approximately 22.9 million tonnes in the CD facility and 7.9 Mt in the A facility. CN/FA ratios across the total volume of each facility range from 8% to 98%, and Au-spiked cyanide solubility assays are being used to better understand the variance. Owen Nicholls, P.Geo., Director of Technical Services, is the designated Qualified Person for the release.
Liberty Gold's Funding And Divestitures
Liberty Gold is a Canadian-listed gold development company advancing its 100%-owned Black Pine oxide gold project in southeastern Idaho, according to akta.pro company records. The same records list an Indicated Resource of 4.88 million ounces and an Inferred Resource of 1.05 million ounces at Black Pine, updated in January 2026, and a Probable Mineral Reserve of 3.1 million ounces at $1,650/oz Au. The records show 12 funding rounds on file, including a $20.3 million post-IPO equity round in September 2025 led by Centerra Gold.
Feasibility Study And Permitting Steps
Liberty Gold completed its Black Pine feasibility study in September 2026, projecting an after-tax net present value of $2.397 billion and an internal rate of return of 60.5% at a $3,250/oz gold price, the Financial Post reported. The study requires $411.4 million in initial capital and projects 2,841,000 ounces of gold over 16 years. In August 2026, Liberty Gold submitted a Preliminary Cyanidation Design Report to the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality, GlobeNewswire reported.
Remaining 2026 Drilling And Next Steps
Drilling and assay processing remain underway, and additional results will be reported as they become available. The remaining 2026 work includes drill-to-measured programs in the Discovery, J and Rangefront areas, step-out drilling in the F Zone and M Zone, and compliance drilling for geotechnical and hydrologic data. Completion of these programs will be weather dependent. Drilling in the A facility has been completed, with 14 holes received and 16 holes pending.
