The service provides cryptographically verifiable proof that a genuine human approved a specific action an agent sought to execute, [Business Wire](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20261022830765/en/) reported. It integrates with agentgateway and [Cerbos](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/0000qdk/cerbos) as its first policy-engine partner.\n\n## How the iProov HAPS Service Works\n\nThe proof of humanity uses iProov's Dynamic and Express technologies. The HAPS engine ties that proof to confirmation that the person approved a specific action, then delivers an auditable, non-repudiable certificate for logging and future reference.\n\nWhen a Cerbos policy requires human approval, the action is held and iProov's hosted HAPS service is called. The service shows the named approver the exact action and its scope. If they approve, they complete an iProov genuine human presence check. iProov then issues a signed, single-use credential bound to that exact action, and only then is the agent's action released. If any detail changes, such as the amount or destination of a payment, the credential no longer matches and the action is blocked.\n\n\"Cerbos controls and secures what decisions AI Agents can make in an organization, and under what conditions,\" said Alex Olivier, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of Cerbos. \"Our partnership with iProov introduces a new level of control, enabling organizations to require approval from the right human before a high-consequence action can proceed.\"\n\n\"For organizations to realize the full potential of agentic AI, they need to task agents with increasingly consequential responsibilities. But some actions must remain subject to human control, approval and accountability,\" said Andrew Bud, founder and CEO of iProov. \"By requiring a genuine human face as part of the approval process, we secure the process against agent impersonation. Because no matter how smart they become, agents will never have faces.\"\n\nThe HAPS specification remains open, so any gateway, policy engine, or relying party can implement HAPS-compliant approval, backed by iProov or by other forms of proof. The Open Source HAPS specification, a partial Rust reference implementation, and test vectors are available at github.com/iProov/HAPS under the Apache-2.0 license.\n\n[Solo.io](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/00000hh/solo-io), the developer of agentgateway, launched agentdesktop on September 11, 2026, an open-source project extending AI agent governance to desktop machines running Claude Code and Codex, with discovery, policy, identity, and observability in standalone and fleet modes, Futurum reported.\n\n## iProov's Identity Verification Record\n\nAccording to akta.pro [company records](https://akta.pro/company-data), iProov launched Verified Meetings in May 2026, an in-call deepfake detection product using dual-layer imagery analysis and hardware integrity verification for video conferencing. In March 2026, the company launched the Workforce Security Suite, expanding from consumer onboarding and authentication into enterprise workforce identity verification for remote hiring, privileged access, and account recovery. In February 2026, iProov's Dynamic Liveness became the first and only solution certified to CEN/TS 18099 High and Ingenium Level 4 for injection attack detection after 40 days of independent testing.\n\n## Earlier iProov Announcements\n\nOn October 6, 2026, Bron launched FaceScan, a wallet recovery feature powered by iProov's Dynamic Liveness that enables users to recover access with a single face scan, available globally across devices, FinancialContent Business Page reported. On September 24, 2026, iProov published the Human Approval and Presence Specification, a framework for requiring human consent before AI agents execute actions, released on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license, Sourcesecurity reported. On September 18, 2026, iProov published an experimental HAPS protocol to bind human approval to machine-readable actions for AI agents, with a partial Rust implementation, Biometric Update reported.\n\n## AgntCon North America Presentation\n\nDominic Forrest, Chief Technology Officer at iProov, will present the HAPS service and its integration with agentgateway and Cerbos at AgntCon North America, in San Jose, CA, October 22-23.\n","publisher":{"name":"News for Agent","url":"https://newsforagent.com"}}
