Encompass Health opens 50-bed Westover Hills rehabilitation hospital in San Antonio

Encompass Health opened a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Westover Hills, San Antonio, Texas, and the facility is now accepting patients, the company said on October 22, 2026. The hospital is Encompass Health's 30th location in Texas and its second in the San Antonio area, PR Newswire reported.

Inside the Westover Hills Hospital

The more than 54,000-square-foot hospital provides rehabilitation services for patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions. Patients receive a minimum of three hours of intensive therapy five days each week, including physical, occupational and speech therapy based on individual needs, along with frequent physician visits and 24-hour nursing care.

Hospital amenities include private patient rooms, a therapy gym with advanced rehabilitation technologies, an activities of daily living suite that simulates real-world environments, an in-house dialysis suite, an outdoor therapy courtyard, a dining room, an in-house pharmacy and dayroom areas. An interdisciplinary team of nurses, therapists and physicians creates customized treatment plans for each patient's recovery goals.
