CoinGecko's API is now live on AirnodeHub, the marketplace API3 built so AI agents can buy data without a human in the loop, letting agents request market data and wallet information and verify the answers are genuine. Crypto Briefing reported the listing, which API3 announced on October 20, 2026 and CoinGecko amplified on October 22.
What AirnodeHub Does for AI Agents
API3 launched the platform in early access on October 5, 2026, debuting with around 36 data services spanning market data, FX rates, news and weather updates. Every service describes itself in a standardized, machine-readable way, using OpenAPI specifications paired with what API3 calls x-airnode metadata, so an agent can work out what a service offers without custom instructions. The platform also supports agent protocols such as MCP. Calls are free while AirnodeHub remains in early access, and pricing has not yet been set.
Through the new listing, agents can query CoinGecko for prices, market caps and on-chain wallet balances. Each response carries a cryptographic signature that attests to where the data came from. The listing extends API3's long-running pitch around first-party oracles, where the data provider itself serves the data rather than routing it through a chain of middlemen. API3 plans to move service providers onto their own Airnodes, the node software that lets a data provider serve its API directly, with providers keeping the majority of the revenue their services generate. API3's AirnodeHub launched as an early-access marketplace where AI agents can discover, call, and pay for APIs with cryptographically signed responses, using x402 for per-request payment across about 30 listings, according to CoinMarketCap.
CoinGecko's Earlier Listings and Reports
CoinGecko launched a dedicated category tracking over 126 tokenized ETFs on September 3, 2026, covering equities, bonds and commodities with a $599 million market cap, and added API endpoints in August 2026, AInvest reported. On September 8, 2026, ChainCatcher reported that CoinGecko's RWA report said on-chain pre-IPO perpetual contracts serve as valuation indicators for traditional IPOs, citing deviations of about 4.9% and 4.6% between perpetual contract prices and actual listing prices. On October 19, 2026, Crypto Briefing reported that Anthropic's tokenized pre-IPO asset debuted on CoinGecko on the Solana blockchain, priced at $984.87 with a market cap of about $7.56 million.
API3's Airnode Rollout Plan
API3 has said it plans to move service providers onto their own Airnodes, with providers keeping the majority of the revenue their services generate. The transition remains a plan rather than a completed rollout, and pricing for AirnodeHub calls has not yet been set.
