CMCC Global is tokenising units of its Crest Fund and Liberty Bitcoin Accumulation Fund, which it said are the first tokenised fund-of-funds offerings issued under El Salvador's Digital Asset Framework. The tokens are built on Tether's Hadron platform and issued, distributed and traded through Bitfinex Securities, according to PR Newswire. BTCS S.A. agreed to serve as anchor investor with an undisclosed triple-digit bitcoin allocation.

How the Crest and LBAF Tokens Work

Crest is USD-denominated and seeks returns above US Treasury bill yields, while LBAF targets net annualised returns of 8–12 percent in Bitcoin terms. Both are multi-manager quantitative hedge funds allocating across market-neutral digital-asset strategies including funding-rate, cross-venue and volatility arbitrage, market making and DeFi. Crest was co-founded by onchain analyst Willy Woo and CMCC Global and launched in March 2022; LBAF launched in April 2025. Both are segregated portfolios of CMCC Global SPC in the Cayman Islands.

Tokens will be issued through Bitfinex Securities El Salvador at USD10 per CREST and 0.0001 BTC per LBAF, with a minimum investment of one token. The tokens are minted against underlying participating shares and burned on redemption, maintaining a 1:1 economic representation of the relevant fund interests, and remain subject to KYC and AML controls. Eligible holders gain 24/7/365 secondary-market trading through Bitfinex Securities, alongside self-custody using approved, whitelisted addresses.

"Tokenisation represents the biggest transformation to financial services in a generation," said Martin Baumann, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of CMCC Global. "Every asset that can be tokenised will be tokenised."

Bitfinex Securities opened capital raises for the two CMCC Global funds using Tether's Hadron, with subscriptions open through October 29 and secondary trading expected after completion, Crypto Briefing reported on October 12, 2026.

CMCC Global's Fund Platform

CMCC Global operates a diversified digital asset management platform of nine funds, including Digital Asset Funds, SyzCrest, Titan Fund, Liberty Bitcoin Fund and Everest Fund, according to akta.pro company records. The same records show a strategic LP base of over 300 investors and USD 250m of capital returned to LP investors across three funds with less than USD 30m total funds raised. CMCC Global raised USD 100m in 2023 for its Titan Fund targeting Hong Kong-based blockchain companies, with B1 committing USD 50m as lead.

Tokenised Funds Elsewhere

Generali Investments launched a tokenised share class of its €13 billion money market fund on October 21, 2026, initially restricted to group companies, Ledger Insights reported. Aave's Equities Hub on Base lets non-US users deposit tokenised Magnificent 7 shares as collateral for USDC loans, with $9.57 million in collateral supporting $4.08 million in loans as of October 18, 2026, Crypto Briefing reported.

Subscription Window and Anchor Investor

BTCS S.A., a Warsaw- and Frankfurt-listed digital asset treasury company, agreed to serve as anchor investor and intends to allocate an undisclosed triple-digit bitcoin amount for the fund's forthcoming launch via Bitfinex Securities. "Our Active Treasury model has one rule: the bitcoin on our balance sheet should earn more bitcoin," said Marlena Lipińska, CEO of BTCS S.A. The subscription period for both offerings is open until October 30, 2026, with benefits for early participants during an initial public offering incentive period.
