Chery Automobile launched a 10.6-kilometer low-carbon cycling ride at its 2026 International User Summit and has committed $12 million to UNICEF global education programs since 2023, the company said in a GlobeNewswire announcement on October 22. Chery is a Chinese state-backed automaker that ranked No. 87 in the 2026 Fortune China 500 and has surpassed 20 million cumulative global sales.
Chery's Ride Green Life and IUCN Partnership
The "Ride Green Life" lakeside cycling event drew international media, industry partners and user representatives who cycled around the park, scanned codes to record their carbon footprints and joined the initiative. The activity ran under the shared vision of "One nature, one future," which the company said calls for integrating nature conservation, biodiversity and sustainable action into product experiences, user engagement, organizational decision-making and everyday life.
IUCN highlighted its four-year programme Nature 2030: One Nature, One Future, which guides the Union's work toward its vision of "a just world that values and conserves nature" and aligns with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Since launching the global "Cherish the Nature" partnership with IUCN in 2024, Chery and IUCN have built a cooperation mechanism around nature conservation, environmental education and public engagement.
At the summit, Chery donated Chery-branded jerseys signed by Robert Lewandowski, Chery's Global Brand Ambassador and UNICEF Poland Ambassador, to UNICEF China. Chery Group's $12 million commitment since 2023 supports UNICEF's global education programmes across Mexico, China, South Africa, Türkiye, Indonesia and Viet Nam. Chery also participated for the first time in a high-level meeting on the Learn AI Global Compact during the UN General Assembly High-Level Week.
Chery's Volt-dragon Charger and V2G Smart Charging Center highlighted its energy management advances. The megawatt-level ultra-fast charging technology can deliver "5 minutes of charging for 500 kilometers of range," while bidirectional V2G vehicle-to-grid interaction allows vehicles to charge during off-peak periods and feed electricity back to the grid during peak hours.
Chery's Robotaxi Agreement and Middle East Expansion
Chery Auto said it would showcase its purpose-built Level 4 Robotaxi and sign a strategic agreement with UAE-based K2 at the 2026 Chery International User Summit in Wuhu, China, according to GlobeNewswire in October 2026. The company also said its smart energy center at the summit, running from October 19-23, is China's first scaled AC V2G demonstration station featuring solar-storage-charging and bidirectional charging, FinancialContent Business Page reported in October 2026.
LEPAS, Chery Auto's premium NEV brand, will enter the Middle East in November with its full NEV lineup, FinanzNachrichten.de reported in October 2026. The LEPAS L8 PHEV will launch in stages in the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and other markets.
