Power Mining partnered with Canaan to launch Bitcube, a palm-sized Bitcoin mining device for home use, the company said in an announcement published by EIN Presswire. The device requires only a USB-C cord and a Wi-Fi connection, and it is built on chips supplied directly by Canaan.
How the Bitcube Miner Works
Bitcube owners can choose Solo or Pool mode, and the device supports standard mining pools. In a regular pool it earns small, frequent payouts; in Solo mode it usually earns nothing, but the owner takes the full reward if it finds the block. The chip, cooling and a touchscreen sit inside a closed 74 × 74 × 80 mm enclosure. The 2.73-inch touchscreen shows hashrate, power use, efficiency, temperature, best shares and mining odds, or switches to the Bitcoin price or a clock, and one tap switches between Quiet and Turbo modes.
"We're democratizing Bitcoin mining by bringing professional capabilities into people's homes," said Mr NG Zhang, founder and CEO at Canaan. "Cryptocurrency enthusiasts no longer need to choose between powerful mining capabilities and residential compatibility."
Kristaps Stikuts, COO of Power Mining, said Bitcube is for people curious about Bitcoin who have never owned mining hardware. "It works out of the box, it's quiet enough for a bedroom, and it's simple enough for a first-time miner," he said. Until now, Power Mining could not buy mining chips directly, and the team bought large industrial machines and desoldered the chips by hand, a slow and labour-intensive process. Most of the company's more than 25,000 home miners were built that way, and Bitcube is its first product built on chips supplied directly by the manufacturer.
"For years, building a home miner started with taking an industrial machine apart," Stikuts said. "A direct line to Canaan lets us put that effort into the product itself."
Power Mining's Earlier Miner Launches
According to akta.pro company records, Power Mining launched European-manufactured NerdQaxe++ and Bitaxe Gamma open-source ASIC miners in 2025 through a dedicated e-commerce storefront, with a reseller program for partners. The same records list Canaan Avalon ASIC miners among the brands supported in Power Mining containers, alongside Bitmain and MicroBT WhatsMiner units. Power Mining LLC is a Latvian manufacturer of portable, containerized cryptocurrency mining infrastructure, founded in 2017 and headquartered in Riga.
Block Finds Behind the Bitcube Pitch
Stikuts said small miners do win. In April 2026, a NerdQAxe++ built by Power Mining found block 945,601 on Parasite Pool, which pays the block finder 1 BTC and shares the rest among other participants, he said. In the solo Public Pool in July 2026, a single Bitaxe running at about 1 TH/s found block 957,382 and received 3.138 BTC.
