What the monday.com Survey of 1,701 Leaders Found
monday.com commissioned Nielsen to survey leaders across the US, UK, Australia, Germany, France, Brazil, and Singapore in April 2026. The sample was balanced by job level, with 51% directors and 49% senior managers, and by department, with 48% in IT and 52% outside it.
The study reports that 94% of leaders find optimization opportunities exciting, and more than 8 in 10 are satisfied using AI and confident about where to apply it. A slight majority, 57%, say the number of software tools their team uses has increased since AI use grew, and 51% report using both company-approved AI and other AI tools at work.
Over half of leaders, 53%, say it is now more difficult to evaluate employees' original contributions, while 78% say their criteria for assessing performance have changed. On oversight, 58% expect to manage more AI agents than people within a year, 46% cite lack of human oversight as their primary concern, and 35% worry about being held accountable for decisions made by an agent.
"Today's leaders are ready, willing, and able to deploy AI in their own workflows," said Michal Miller Levi, Head of Market Research and Customer Insights at monday.com. "But real value from AI at work comes from the ability to make it an integral part of core business activities across the entire organization, and that's where many struggle."
