Eternal vice chairman and founder Deepinder Goyal teased a new product called Dark.ai on October 21, 2026, saying it comes "from the house of Eternal" and is "coming soon". NDTV Profit reported the announcement, made in a post on X with a photograph of two screens showing the logo "Dark by Eternal".
Goyal's Dark.ai Teaser and the Temple Wearable
Goyal said he wanted to pursue ideas involving significantly higher-risk exploration and experimentation. The teaser lands as Eternal heads into its September-quarter results. The company, formerly Zomato, now runs food delivery, quick commerce through Blinkit, Hyperpure and District. Dark.ai is the latest in a run of technology bets by Goyal outside food delivery, the best known of which is Temple, a wearable.
Goyal has described Temple as a sensor that sits on the wearer's temple and continuously tracks blood flow to the brain. It is developed by his health-tech company, Temple Private Limited. In February, Goyal said Temple had raised funds in a friends-and-family round at a post-money valuation of about $190 million, a figure TechCrunch reported on the basis of his post. Goyal has described it as a wearable for elite performance athletes, and the valuation has not been independently verified.
Temple is now close to market. Pre-orders open on 1 November, with a launch edition in six colours, TimesNow reported. The company has yet to announce a price or quantities, though it has said deliveries will be completed by the end of 2026. Goyal has said the latest version is less than half the size of the prototype he showed earlier. The device uses optical sensors to track cerebral blood flow and generates an "Entropy" score linked to physiological strain. The science behind it remains contested. Goyal links his research to what he calls the "Gravity Ageing Hypothesis". He has said it was tested over two years through discussions with doctors and scientists, with no strong contradiction found. It has not been established in peer-reviewed research. Goyal has also backed health and fitness startups, including wearable maker Ultrahuman.
Eternal's Leadership and Funding Records
According to akta.pro company records, Eternal appointed Albinder Dhindsa as Group CEO in 2026, with founder Deepinder Goyal transitioning to Vice Chairman. The same records show Eternal raised approximately Rs 8,500 crore through a Qualified Institutions Placement in November 2024, predominantly from domestic mutual funds, shifting ownership majority to Indian investors. In April 2025 the company achieved Indian-owned and controlled company status, and in 2025-04 it restructured Blinkit from a marketplace model to an inventory-led operating model.
Eternal's Run-Up to the Dark.ai Teaser
Eternal said on October 13, 2026, that it would announce its Q2 FY27 results on October 21, 2026, with a board meeting and conference call scheduled, NDTV Profit reported. On October 18, 2026, CNBC TV18 reported that nearly 100 companies, including Nifty 50 firms, would report Q2 results that week, with no results on Tuesday due to Dusshera. On October 10, 2026, Goyal said Eternal supports over 1% of India's population, citing 31 lakh delivery partners in FY26, a 57% increase from the prior year, NewsBytes reported.
Temple's November Pre-Order Date
Temple's pre-orders open on 1 November, with six launch colours including True Gold and Rose Gold, TimesNow reported. Deliveries are to be completed by the end of 2026, the company has said.
