What the Laredo Facility Offers
DSV is the world's largest freight forwarder, moving goods by air, sea and road and running contract logistics for multinationals in healthcare, automotive, technology, consumer and industrial sectors. The Laredo building combines warehousing, distribution and customs work in one location.
Services include omni-channel fulfillment for eCommerce distribution, standard pallet and master-case racking, warehouse-management-system cross-dock operations and SKU-level fulfillment, inventory management and order fulfillment, cross-border transportation, customs brokerage and trade compliance support, and bonded and Foreign-Trade Zone storage for short and long terms.
The facility also provides northbound U.S. customs services and on-site Mexican customs processing, which DSV said lets customers move freight across the border while meeting changing trade requirements. DSV's integrated model brings air and sea, road, contract logistics, customs brokerage and trade compliance together as a single point of accountability.
"Our Laredo facility is a milestone in DSV's strategy to lead with innovation and scale," said Josh Summers, CEO, Contract Logistics, North America. "We're committed to helping our customers grow by providing smarter, more agile logistics solutions."
Thomas Christensen, Managing Director, COO, Air & Sea, United States, said the opening "represents a significant commitment to the future of North American logistics."
DSV's Scale After the Schenker Acquisition
According to akta.pro company records, DSV's combined headcount following its acquisition of DB Schenker from Deutsche Bahn is about 150,000, a figure the company states on its corporate website as of 2026. The same records put DSV's network at more than 90 countries and over 3,000 offices and logistics facilities. DSV was founded in 1976 and is headquartered in Hedehusene, Denmark.
Earlier DSV Expansion Moves
DSV's recent expansion steps include a June 2026 partnership with Exotec to install approximately 100 Skypod autonomous robots at its logistics centre in Venlo, Netherlands, a goods-to-person system managing roughly 90,000 bins and trays, according to akta.pro company records. In May 2026, Volvo Autonomous Solutions and DSV launched commercial autonomous freight operations in Texas, deploying Volvo VNL Autonomous trucks on a Dallas-to-Houston depot-to-depot route, the same records show.
