American Resources Corporation and ReElement Technologies signed a new agreement with Uzbekistan Technological Metals Complex and the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan on October 19, 2026, to advance a commercial demonstration of high-purity tungsten refining. TradingView published the announcement on October 21, 2026.
American Resources Advances Uzbekistan Tungsten Program
The agreement was signed in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, during the American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council event, held in connection with broader U.S.-Uzbekistan and C5+1 diplomatic and commercial engagements involving President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs Sergio Gor.
The new agreement moves the parties' November 2025 memorandum of understanding beyond initial technical evaluation toward a structured commercial demonstration and engineering program. Through the existing collaboration, ReElement has validated the processing of Uzbek-sourced tungsten into high-purity oxide form using its proprietary refining technology.
Under the agreement, the parties will run a commercial demonstration program using Uzbek-sourced tungsten at ReElement's U.S. facilities, designed to validate commercial viability, processing efficiencies, product quality, and scalability. The parties will also advance preliminary engineering, process design, and techno-economic modeling for potential tungsten refining operations in Uzbekistan. The agreement establishes a joint working group of all four parties and includes opportunities for Uzbek technical specialists to visit ReElement's U.S. facilities.
Mark Jensen, Chairman and CEO of American Resources Corporation and ReElement Technologies, said: "We are extremely pleased to advance our relationship with UzTMK and UFRD beyond the MOU stage and into a clearly defined commercial demonstration program. Our initial success in refining Uzbek-sourced tungsten provides an important technical foundation for this next phase."
ReElement's Indiana Refining Capacity
According to akta.pro company records, ReElement Technologies expanded its Phase 1 rare earth refining campus in Marion, Indiana in March 2026 to four production lines capable of processing both recycled and primary feedstocks, with annual capacity expected to exceed 16,000 metric tons of separated and purified oxide capacity. The same records show American Resources signed a $200 million joint venture with POSCO International in May 2026 to build an integrated rare earth and permanent magnet production complex in the United States, targeting 3,000 MTPA in Phase 1 in 2028 and 6,000 MTPA by Phase 2 in 2030.
Earlier American Resources Agreements
