Yari Resources has completed the acquisition of the Arcadia coal project in Queensland for $50,000 upfront cash plus completion shares, a total consideration of $714,000, EIN Presswire reported on October 20, 2026. The company said the deal establishes a combined 504.9Mt Queensland coal resource portfolio.

Yari Resources Closes Arcadia Coal Acquisition

Yari Resources (ASX: YAR) completed the acquisition of the Arcadia coal project in Queensland via a $50,000 upfront cash payment plus completion shares for total consideration of $714,000, the company said. Managing director Courtney Taylor said completion lifts Yari's reported JORC coal resources to 504.9 million tonnes, more than six times the 78.9Mt initially reported for the company's Rolleston South Project in May 2025.

Indicated resources have increased from 33.7Mt to 197.7Mt, with Arcadia contributing 164.0Mt Indicated. "Completion of Arcadia establishes Yari as the owner of a greater than 500 Mt Queensland coal resource portfolio in the world-class Bowen Basin," Ms Taylor said.

"Importantly, the growth in our resource base has materially outpaced the increase in shares on issue, lifting total resource tonnes per share by 28.8% and Indicated tonnes per share by 233.7%," she said. Using the $0.0045 placement price as an illustrative reference, the cash and completion shares are equivalent to approximately 0.25 cents per reported Arcadia resource tonne.

Additional obligations include $400,000 minimum qualifying expenditure over three years; $1.25 million in resource and tenure milestone payments; $20 million in production-linked cash payments; a 1.5% gross revenue royalty; and a 10% entitlement to any relevant future sale or transfer consideration. Ms Taylor said Yari is building a significant coal position in Queensland's Bowen Basin through its Rolleston South and Arcadia coal projects, as part of a district-scale consolidation strategy.

The Rolleston South project contains a total coal resource of 222.9Mt, comprising 33.7Mt Indicated and 189.2Mt Inferred resources. Recent coal-quality testwork has highlighted the potential for low-ash export thermal, PCI and semi-soft coking coal products.

How the Arcadia Deal Was Agreed

Yari Resources signed a binding conditional share sale and purchase agreement to acquire 100% of the Arcadia Coal Project in the Bowen Basin, central Queensland, through the purchase of Northern Comet Resources, Mining Technology reported in August 2026. World Coal reported the same month that the deal would double Yari's JORC resource to over 500 million tonnes and was structured with low upfront consideration linked to project milestones.

Yari Resources Limited changed its name from Yari Minerals Limited after shareholder approval on 29 May 2026, with the change registered with ASIC and effective on the ASX on or around 9 June 2026, Kalkine reported in June 2026.

Yari Resources' Next Steps at Arcadia

Yari's focus now shifts to resource growth, development studies and potential strategic opportunities, the company said. Ms Taylor said the company is advancing Arcadia and Rolleston South, supporting its district-scale consolidation strategy, driven by long-term demand for both thermal and metallurgical coal and constrained supply.
