Netflix Sets Rob Lowe Documentary and Podcast Debuts for November and December

Netflix announced a documentary and a podcast from Rob Lowe, with the documentary premiering on Nov. 24 and the podcast arriving on Dec. 3. The streaming platform said the podcast's debut is part of a new partnership between SiriusXM, Netflix and Lowe. Yahoo reported the announcement on October 20, 2026.

Rob Lowe's Documentary and Podcast Details

The documentary, "Rob Lowe: The Outsider," premieres on Nov. 24. It documents Lowe's breakout role in Francis Ford Coppola's "The Outsiders" and his time on "The West Wing," according to the announcement. Chris Smith, who directed "Tiger King" and "Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened" for Netflix, directs and produces the documentary alongside Sydney Schwartz and Stacy Smith for Library Films. Marc Gurvitz, Jon Liebman and Zoe Rogovin serve as executive producers.

The podcast, "Literally! With Rob Lowe," makes its Netflix debut on Dec. 3. New video episodes will be available every Thursday on Netflix exclusively, while audio episodes continue through the SiriusXM Podcast Network wherever podcasts are available. More than 30 library episodes will also be added to Netflix. The podcast is produced by SiriusXM's Team Coco Digital, created and hosted by Lowe. Sean Doherty produces through Team Coco, and Sean Calvano is an associate producer. Lowe, Nick Liao, Adam Sachs and Jeff Ross executive produce the podcast.

Lowe also stars in the holiday comedy film "In A Holidaze," based on the novel by Christina Lauren, which premieres globally on Dec. 2.

Earlier Netflix Partnerships This Month

On October 20, 2026, Netflix joined as a strategic partner to the Santiago-Guadalajara Queer Incubator, renewing its partnership with Sanfic Industria and the Guadalajara Film Festival, Variety reported. The same day, Lumistella signed a licensing deal with Netflix for the preschool series Scout Elf Squad, premiering Nov. 4, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Netflix also restructured its UCAN scripted series division into genre-specific pods, promoting Cole Galvin to VP and Neil Thomas to Director, Yahoo reported.
