MG Ship Debuts MGS Carrier Reliability Index With September 2026 Results

By ·

Key takeaways

  • MG Ship launched the MGS Carrier Reliability Index with September 2026 results, updated monthly for registered users.
  • The index scores carriers on on-time delivery, traceability coverage, exception and disruption rates, and transit-time consistency.
  • MG Ship's predictive model can detect potential delays up to 14 days in advance, supported by 2,500 integrations.

MG Ship launched the MGS Carrier Reliability Index, a decision-intelligence tool that helps shippers and retailers assess carrier risk across Asian trade lanes before booking, the company said. The inaugural edition uses September 2026 results and will be updated monthly for registered users, according to TradingView.

How the MGS Carrier Reliability Index Works

The index is built on MG Ship's predictive logistics model, which combines real-time shipment visibility, historical carrier performance, weather, congestion, and trade-lane risk signals. It evaluates carriers on on-time delivery performance, traceability coverage, exception and disruption rates, and transit-time consistency. The first edition establishes a baseline across key inbound and outbound Asian trade lanes.

"Choosing a carrier should not be a gamble," said Suki Cheung, CEO of MG Ship. "MGS Carrier Reliability Index gives shippers a clear, data-driven view of which carriers are likely to perform on Asia's inbound and outbound lanes, while our predictive model helps them act before delays become customer complaints."

Ms. Cheung said the tool is aimed at companies sourcing from or selling into Asia, where early visibility into carrier performance can protect delivery promises across the downstream network. The platform's predictive capabilities include automated pre-alerts for port congestion, adverse weather, and carrier delays; route and carrier optimization using live conditions, historical performance, cost, and risk signals; and risk intelligence on geopolitical developments, trade-lane disruption, tariff changes, regulatory updates, and medium- to long-range weather forecasts.

MG Ship said the index and predictive model let shippers compare carriers on likely real-world performance rather than price alone, detect potential delays up to 14 days in advance, and avoid emergency airfreight upgrades and penalty costs. The launch is supported by 2,500 integrations across carriers, freight forwarders, warehouse systems, ports, customs, and IoT sources, unifying ocean, air, road, rail, and parcel tracking. The index, predictive capabilities, and integration network are available to MG Ship customers worldwide.

MG Ship's Earlier 2026 Launches

In August 2026, MG Ship launched its AI-powered logistics intelligence platform in Europe for freight forwarders and 3PL providers, offering real-time shipment tracking, predictive analytics, and risk management across more than 220 countries, EIN Presswire reported. Later that month, the company announced its expansion into the US market, with AI-powered tracking and trade intelligence for US shippers and integration with over 1,000 carriers. In September 2026, MG Ship and Morning Global Group launched a Double Rewards Campaign for newly registered customers, offering two months of free access to AI supply chain tools and $4,000 in international shipping, EIN Presswire reported.
