LG Electronics presented an integrated V2X-V2N safety platform aligned with Euro NCAP cooperative safety scenarios at the 2026 ITS World Congress in Gangneung, South Korea, the company said. The congress runs from October 19 to 23 under the theme "Beyond Mobility, Connected World," according to PR Newswire APAC.

LG's Soft V2X Platform and Gangneung Demonstrations

The platform combines direct vehicle-to-everything communications with cloud-based vehicle-to-network connectivity, and LG described the presentation as the world's first demonstration of an integrated V2X-V2N safety platform aligned with Euro NCAP cooperative safety scenarios. Live on-road demonstrations near the congress venue run from October 20 to 22 under the theme "Seamless V2X-V2N Intelligence for NCAP-Ready Safety," using a vehicle equipped with LG telematics hardware, V2X-enabled devices and a pedestrian mobile application. The demonstrations illustrate how connected safety technologies can identify risks at obstructed intersections, detect approaching pedestrians and cyclists, and warn of hazards beyond the driver's line of sight.

Naver reported that the demonstration covers a 2.6km route, detecting hazards such as stalled vehicles and pedestrians, and meets Euro NCAP top safety standards. Nate reported that the system combines direct and cellular communication to expand warning range, and that LG plans to expand its telematics business, currently ranked first globally.

LG joined the Korea Electronics Technology Institute, the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute and Sungkyunkwan University for an October 19 panel discussion on the future of the V2X ecosystem, where it shared its perspective on advancing V2N and hybrid V2X standardization. Nate reported on August 6 that a hydrazine leak accident occurred at the Korea Electronics Technology Institute in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.
