In-N-Out Burger has purchased a $6.95 million, 6-acre property at 3095 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard in Clarksville, Tennessee, for a future restaurant, and expects to open a Hendersonville location by Christmas. Yahoo reported the land purchase and the Hendersonville timeline.
In-N-Out's Clarksville Purchase and Hendersonville Opening
The Clarksville property previously operated as a Quality Inn hotel just off Exit 4 of Interstate 24, according to Montgomery County Register of Deeds property records. Huff, Niehaus & Associates, which brokered the sale, said In-N-Out Burger plans to redevelop the site with a restaurant and two additional retail or restaurant establishments. Visibility along Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and the immediate proximity to I-24 contributed to In-N-Out's interest, according to Huff, Niehaus & Associates.
The Hendersonville restaurant is at 100 N. Anderson Lane along East Main Street near the Lowe's store and commercial area. In-N-Out Director of Real Estate Matt Loevenguth said the company hopes "to be serving Double-Doubles by Christmas." Work is also underway on future restaurants in Hermitage, Cookeville and Nashville's Melrose neighborhood. In July, In-N-Out opened its fifth Middle Tennessee location in Nashville's Madison neighborhood.
In-N-Out's Franklin Headquarters and 275 Jobs
In-N-Out Burger is a family-owned, never-franchised quick-service restaurant chain operating more than 400 company-owned locations across 10 U.S. states, according to akta.pro company records. The chain was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Irvine, California. Its new eastern territory office under construction in Franklin, near Interstate 65 and the Berry Farms area, has been projected to bring 275 jobs to the region and remains on track to open this year, said In-N-Out Chief Operating Officer Denny Warnick.
"Once open, the office will be home to Associates who support restaurant operations in various ways, in addition to the teams working at our distribution center in Lebanon, Tennessee," Warnick said in an email. "We will start with a significant family of office associates at opening, then with ongoing hiring and relocations we'll grow toward our eventual fully staffed target."
Earlier In-N-Out Expansion Moves
In July 2026, In-N-Out opened its fifth Middle Tennessee location in Nashville's Madison neighborhood, according to Yahoo. In October 2026, AOL.com reported that In-N-Out Burger is opening five new locations in California and Tennessee, including four in California and one in Tennessee, with the California sites expected to open by early 2027 and the Tennessee location having no opening date yet. In July 2026, the New York Post reported that In-N-Out Burger announced six new locations across California, Arizona, Utah, and Idaho, expanding its presence in Western states where it currently operates over 430 locations in 10 states.
What's Next for In-N-Out in Tennessee
In-N-Out also expects to begin construction in the coming months on a future restaurant in Cookeville at The Willows shopping center, Loevenguth said. Smyrna planning commissioners voted down a preliminary site plan submitted by In-N-Out in September 2025 for a new restaurant at 999 Industrial Boulevard, where the closed Hickory Falls Wood-Fired bar & Grill formerly operated. The denial centered around design standards and the amount of brick, stone and glass Smyrna requires. In-N-Out has also taken steps to potentially open a new restaurant at 2711 Eighth Ave. S., in the Melrose neighborhood of Nashville.
