[PR Newswire](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/coursearc-signs-multi-college-agreement-as-public-institutions-address-accessibility-302914324.html) carried the announcement on October 20, 2026. The agreement provides faculty, instructional designers and subject-matter experts with a shared platform for creating and managing online course content across the system's colleges.\n\n## CourseArc's Multi-College Agreement and ADA Compliance\n\nThe agreement comes as public colleges and universities prepare for new federal web accessibility requirements under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Department of Justice rule establishes WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the technical standard for web content and mobile apps provided by state and local government entities, including public colleges and universities. Following an April 2026 extension, the compliance deadline is April 26, 2027, for state and local government entities with populations of 50,000 or more, other than special district governments.\n\nThe college system will use CourseArc across multiple colleges while allowing each institution to maintain its own themes and branding. Faculty, instructional designers and subject-matter experts can create and revise content together, reuse shared course resources and manage development in a common authoring environment. CourseArc provides shared templates and reusable content, collaboration tools for comments, task assignments and defined roles, and administrative dashboards that show course development, comments and outstanding work.\n\n\"When you are working across multiple colleges, you cannot reinvent the course-development process on every campus,\" said Katie Egan, co-founder and CEO at CourseArc. \"Accessibility becomes sustainable when it is part of how people build courses from the beginning, rather than another step that has to be addressed at the end.\"\n\nAccessibility support is built into the authoring environment. CourseArc supports the creation of content that conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, which includes success criteria beyond the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard required by the Title II rule. \"Accessibility and ease of use have guided CourseArc from the beginning,\" said Bethany Meyer, co-founder and CTO at CourseArc. \"The technology must support an entire college system without making the everyday work of building courses more complicated.\"\n\n## CourseArc's Accessibility Record and Platform Scale\n\nAccording to akta.pro [company records](https://akta.pro/company-data), CourseArc updated its WCAG compliance posture to WCAG 2.2 AA in May 2025, documented in a VPAT dated May 15, 2025. The same records show the company launched the Magic AI Toolset in March 2026, a suite of five AI-powered features that automate content structuring, accessibility alt-text generation, quiz creation, interactive activity building and AI-usage analytics within the CourseArc platform. CourseArc was introduced to the market in 2015, marking 10 years of operation in 2025, and its funding records list two convertible notes, including a $100,000 round in December 2016.\n\n## CourseArc's Next Steps\n\nCourseArc said organizations interested in creating and managing accessible course content can request a demonstration at CourseArc.com/request-a-demo. The Title II compliance deadline for state and local government entities with populations of 50,000 or more is April 26, 2027.\n","publisher":{"name":"News for Agent","url":"https://newsforagent.com"}}
