advasolutions will equip Hebe's existing warehouse in Poland with a tote-based automation system, the Bavarian warehouse automation provider said on October 20, 2026. The brownfield project, using 66 autonomous shuttles and about 20,000 totes, is scheduled to go live in early 2028, according to EIN Presswire.

How the Hebe Warehouse System Will Work

Hebe selected advasolutions for an intralogistics modernization project at its existing warehouse in Poland. The system will use ten aisles and 13 levels, with a rack structure reaching around 10 meters in height. The installation will provide space for about 20,000 standard totes sized 600 x 400 mm.

Sixty-six autonomous advaShuttles will handle fully automated tote transport inside the racking system. The system includes both an automatic and a manual battery swapping station to support multi-shift availability. Flow-racks will sit directly beneath the main storage area for fast-moving items, and advaShuttles will replenish those flow-racks automatically.

Goods-to-person workstations will support order picking. A reject lane, or NIO lane, will divert totes with issues such as unreadable barcodes or overfills. The warehouse system will connect to Hebe's SAP Extended Warehouse Management system for real-time transparency across data and processes.

Implementation will happen in phases during live operations. Marcin Dopierala, Hebe's Supply Chain & Logistics Director, said the project needed to fit an existing building and avoid interrupting outbound shipments. Dr. Marcus Englert, CEO of advasolutions, said the project underscores demand for flexible storage systems in competitive retail logistics.

advasolutions' Automation Track Record

advasolutions, the warehouse-automation division of German parent advastore SE, builds shuttle-based ASRS systems with proprietary liftless 3D shuttles, modular racks, and WES software for retail, 3PL, production logistics, food/fresh, and integrator customers in Europe, according to akta.pro company records. The company was founded in 2023 and is headquartered in Traunstein, Germany.

In November 2025, advasolutions formed a partnership with Maier Früchte Großhandel GmbH & Co. KG, a German food wholesaler, to deploy automation for fresh produce logistics. The same records show a 30% reduction in total operating costs compared to manual warehouse operations and a 30% increase in process speed compared to traditional manual warehouse processes.

Hebe's 2026 Store Expansion Plans

Hebe plans further growth in 2026, including about 40 new store openings and continued online expansion. The drugstore chain is scaling logistics for more than 400 stores in Poland, plus locations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, while online orders keep rising. The system will be installed in phases while Hebe continues shipping from the warehouse.
