Xuanda Brings Heavy-Duty Vertical Roller Mill Cylinders to CEMENTTECH

Xuanda Industrial Group Co.,Ltd.（XDV） showcased heavy-duty vertical roller mill hydraulic cylinders at the China International Cement Technology and Equipment Exhibition (CEMENTTECH), the company said in an announcement published by EIN Presswire. The cylinders are built as direct drop-in replacements for UBE, FLSmidth and other mill brands, with 100% factory inspection and proof pressure testing.

What Xuanda Brought to CEMENTTECH

The cylinders are made from vacuum-degassed 42CrMo alloy structural steel forgings that undergo quenching and tempering, deep-hole boring and ultrasonic non-destructive testing. Xuanda said the forged barrels resist radial expansion under operating pressures of 25 MPa to 31.5 MPa during continuous cement grinding.

Internal finishing runs on an American SUNNEN HTH-6001S horizontal CNC honing machine that handles bore diameters from 25 mm up to 1000 mm with single-pass strokes up to 6 meters. The process holds roundness and cylindricity within 0.003 mm and surface roughness between Ra 0.02 µm and Ra 0.2 µm, creating a cross-hatch pattern that retains lubricating oil films.

Piston rods combine laser cladding with dense multi-layer hard chrome to reach surface hardness exceeding HRC 60, resisting limestone dust, raw meal powder and pulverized clinker dust. A multi-stage sealing package uses metallic scrapers, polyurethane wipers and low-friction PTFE step seals, with configurations customized to UBE short-stroke cycles and to long-stroke TRM and ATOX cylinders.

Xuanda said more than 18 years of development produced an engineering database of OEM mill cylinder dimensions and load ratings. The range covers UBE UM Series strokes of 150 mm to 270 mm, FLSmidth ATOX and Pfeiffer MPS bores of 220 mm to 550 mm with strokes up to 1000 mm, and TCD/TRM Series large-bore configurations up to 530 mm with strokes reaching 2900 mm, alongside Loesche LM Series units. Maintenance crews install the replacements without flame cutting, structural modification or piping re-routing.

Every cylinder undergoes 100% factory inspection, including 1.5-times proof pressure testing on dedicated hydraulic test benches to verify structural integrity and zero internal bypassing. Shipments include material test certificates for 42CrMo forgings, dimensional inspection reports and seal spare parts packages. Xuanda operates under ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems, with design standards aligned to CE directives, ASME specifications and EN ISO 13849 safety standards.
