Wyndham Opens Three Ramada Encore Hotels in India, Passing 1,000 Keys

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts opened three Ramada Encore by Wyndham hotels in Ayodhya and Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh and Kochi in Kerala, taking the brand to 17 operational hotels and more than 1,000 keys in India. EIN Presswire carried the announcement on October 19, 2026.

Wyndham said the new properties are intended to serve travellers visiting spiritual circuits in Uttar Pradesh, alongside business and leisure visitors to Kochi. The company is positioning its midscale offering for destinations that attract visitors throughout the year.

One of the new properties, Ramada Encore by Wyndham Ayodhya Takpura, is located on National Highway 27, around four kilometres from the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. The 72-room hotel caters to pilgrims, families and business travellers, with facilities for weddings, social celebrations and corporate gatherings.

According to figures cited in the announcement, India recorded more than 4.3 billion domestic tourist visits in 2025, while Ayodhya attracted over 200 million visitors during the year. Vrindavan is part of Uttar Pradesh's spiritual tourism circuit, while Kochi combines business activity, air connectivity and leisure travel demand in Kerala. Through franchise relationships with local owners, Wyndham is seeking to expand beyond India's traditional gateway cities, providing owners with access to its distribution network, technology, loyalty programme and operational support.

Marriott and Travelodge Expand in Asia

Marriott International opened City Express by Marriott Udaipur Nathdwara Highway, its first hotel in India, on the Udaipur-Nathdwara Highway, WebWire reported on October 13, 2026. The 56-room property offers Wi-Fi, workspaces and an all-day dining restaurant, and is about 35 km from the airport and 30 km from the railway station. Travelodge Hotels Asia opened Travelodge Gangnam Yeoksam Seoul, its fifth Korean hotel with 360 rooms and a meeting room, FinancialContent Business Page reported on October 15, 2026. The property is Travelodge's largest in Asia and is part of a plan to expand to over 50 properties by 2030.
