Nuclidium AG and NorthStar Medical Technologies will work together on Copper-67 supply and radiopharmaceutical manufacturing under a long-term strategic partnership, the companies said in a Business Wire announcement. NorthStar will produce the isotope and provide manufacturing services for Nuclidium's therapeutic programs from clinical development through commercialization.
How the NorthStar Manufacturing Deal Works
Nuclidium is a clinical-stage radiopharmaceutical company whose pipeline includes lead programs NU101 for metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer and NU201 for metastatic breast cancer, along with earlier-stage programs in other solid tumor indications focused on women's oncology. Copper-67 is the therapeutic isotope component of those radiotheranostic programs.
NorthStar will carry out the work through its vertically integrated U.S.-based radiopharmaceutical campus, where it has invested in cGMP manufacturing and maintains commercial-scale infrastructure. NorthStar produces Copper-67 and is the first commercial-scale producer of no-carrier-added actinium-225 using electron accelerator technology, according to its own description of the Beloit, Wisconsin site.
"Our collaboration with NorthStar strengthens our copper isotope supply chain at a critical moment, ensuring we are well prepared to execute on our near-term clinical development objectives and meet the long-term demand for our radiotheranostics," said Leila Jaafar, PhD, CEO and Co-Founder of Nuclidium. She said Nuclidium remains on track to initiate multiple therapeutic studies using Copper-67 for mCRPC and mBC in the coming months.
"As demand for copper-based radiotheranostics continues to grow, reliable isotope supply and scalable manufacturing infrastructure will be essential for successful commercialization," said Dr. Frank Scholz, President & CEO of NorthStar. He said NorthStar's integrated platform is designed to provide both, allowing Nuclidium to advance its programs from clinical development through future commercial launch.
NorthStar Medical Technologies secured up to $185 million in growth financing led by Hercules Capital, with $100 million upfront, Stock Titan reported on September 29, 2026.
Nuclidium's Series B Funding and Patent Position
According to akta.pro company records, Nuclidium closed an oversubscribed Series B extension of CHF 26 million in May 2026, bringing total Series B financing to CHF 105 million, or about EUR 115 million. The round was led by Kurma Growth Opportunities Fund, Angelini Ventures, Wellington Partners, Neva SGR and the EIB co-investment facility Aurea, and is intended to fund Phase 1/2a therapeutic trials and manufacturing expansion.
The same records show Nuclidium closed an initial Series B of CHF 79 million, or EUR 84 million, in July 2025, co-led by Kurma Growth Opportunities Fund, Angelini Ventures, Wellington Partners and Neva SGR. In January 2026 the company received US Patent No. 12,527,885 from the USPTO covering the Copper-61 diagnostic and Copper-67 therapeutic pair of the NU101 PSMA-positive prostate cancer program in theranostic use.
Clinical Studies Planned for Coming Months
Nuclidium said it remains on track to initiate multiple therapeutic studies using Copper-67 for mCRPC and mBC in the coming months, and to expand its radiotheranostic portfolio into the clinic, including women's oncology indications.
