Fox Chief Legal and Policy Officer Adam Ciongoli to Step Down; Nicholas Trutanich Named General Counsel

Fox Corporation said Adam Ciongoli will not renew his contract and will step down as chief legal and policy officer effective December 1, moving to a special advisor role through June 2028. Nicholas Trutanich, now executive vice president and principal deputy general counsel, becomes general counsel the same day, reporting to executive chair and chief executive officer Lachlan Murdoch, PR Newswire reported on October 19, 2026.

Ciongoli's Exit and Trutanich's Promotion

Murdoch said Ciongoli made "many immense contributions over the last three years" and that he appreciates his continued service as a special advisor. Ciongoli said it "has been a privilege and an honor to be a part of the FOX family," adding that he looks forward to continuing to work with Murdoch in the advisory role.

Trutanich joined Fox as chief ethics and compliance officer in 2021 and most recently led the company's litigation and ethics and compliance functions. Before Fox, he was the U.S. Attorney for the District of Nevada from 2019 to 2021, held senior roles at the Nevada attorney general's office and served as a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Department of Justice. Earlier he was a litigator in private practice and a federal law clerk. Trutanich said he is "grateful for the opportunity to lead such a talented legal team."

Fox also said Kristopher Jones, executive vice president and head of government relations, will report directly to president and chief operating officer John Nallen effective December 1. The company's brands include FOX News Media, FOX Sports, Tubi Media Group, FOX Entertainment and FOX Television Stations, according to Fox.
