Converge ICT Solutions Inc. is planning two additional data centers in Calabarzon, with one potentially reaching 80 megawatts, as the fiber broadband provider shifts its next major facility from the Visayas and Mindanao to Luzon. The Inquirer reported that cofounder and CEO Dennis Uy said Cavite, Laguna and Batangas are among the potential locations.
Converge's Calabarzon Data Center Plans
Converge ICT Solutions Inc. is a Philippine fiber broadband operator serving residential, SME and enterprise customers, with AI-ready colocation among its revenue streams. The proposed Luzon facilities would add to its existing data centers in Pampanga and Metro Manila, including sites in Caloocan, Pasig and Clark.
Uy said one of the proposed facilities could become Converge's largest data center yet, with a potential capacity of 80 MW. The company's largest existing facility in Angeles, Pampanga, has an initial capacity of 12 MW, expandable to 36 MW.
"It's the biggest," Uy told reporters last week. "This is for AI."
Keeping data centers in Luzon marks a departure from Uy's position in 2025, when he said Converge was considering locations in the Visayas and Mindanao for a potential 100-MW data center that would have been the company's largest. Uy also said Converge is developing a token-based platform that would let subscribers access multiple large language models depending on their preferences and needs.
Uy said building a hyperscale data center costs at least $10 million per MW, meaning a facility of the scale Converge is considering could require capital expenditures of around $800 million, or P50 billion. He said developing data centers would require substantial investment and several years of preparation.
Converge's Existing Data Center Footprint
According to akta.pro company records, Converge inaugurated a 12MW AI-ready, scalable data center in Angeles City, Pampanga in March 2026, backed by a PHP 5 billion investment and configured for AI/ML workloads. The same records show the company serves 3.09 million subscribers as of the end of March 2026, with 104,932 residential fiber net additions in the quarter.
Earlier Converge Data Center and AI Moves
In August 2026, Converge's data center in Angeles City, Pampanga was granted "green lane" status by the Philippines' Board of Investments, making the nearly P5-billion facility eligible for expedited permits and regulatory clearances, the Inquirer reported. That same month, Converge expressed interest in providing connectivity and digital infrastructure for the Pax Silica project, a joint US-Philippines industrial hub in New Clark City focused on AI component manufacturing, according to GMA Network.
What Comes Next for Converge
Uy said he saw no immediate need for a real estate investment trust listing of Converge's data center assets. "Let's build a foundation first, and once it's there, doing a REIT would be faster," he said.
