The company committed to cutting absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 79.79% by 2030 and scope 3 emissions by 35.0% by 2036, both from a 2022 base year. [TradingView](https://www.tradingview.com/news/globenewswire:4bdfcf847094b:0-cabka-s-emission-reduction-targets-validated-by-the-science-based-targets-initiative/) carried the announcement.\n\n## What SBTi Services Validated for Cabka\n\nCabka is a company specialized in transforming hard to recycle plastic waste into reusable transport packaging, listed on Euronext Amsterdam. The company set the near-term targets in 2024 and aimed to achieve validation in 2026, which it said was reached on schedule.\n\n\"SBTi validation is an important milestone for Cabka,\" said Alexander Masharov, CEO of Cabka. \"Our priority is to deliver measurable emissions reductions through renewable electricity, more efficient operations and keeping more plastics in the loop. Expanding BuyBack and increasing the use of recycled materials will be central to turning our climate commitments into results.\"\n\nThe validated scope 3 target covers emissions from purchased goods and services and the end-of-life treatment of sold products. Cabka said scope 3 remains the largest share of its footprint, and that raw material choices and end-of-life treatment are the focus of the 2036 target. Beyond the validated targets, the company said it continues to pursue 100% renewable energy and carbon-neutral own operations by 2030.\n\nSBTi Services has validated targets for other companies in recent weeks. Businessgreen reported on October 9, 2026 that McVitie's, the maker of biscuits and crackers, had its targets to cut scope 1 and 2 emissions by 58.8% and scope 3 by 35% by 2034 validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.\n\n## Cabka's Emissions Progress and Business Records\n\nAccording to akta.pro [company records](https://akta.pro/company-data), Cabka reported audited revenues of €180.8 million for financial year 2025, operational EBITDA of €21.2 million and a net loss of €-7.4 million. The same records list one funding round on file, a December 2023 post-IPO debt round of $87.6 million.\n\nFrom 2022 to 2025, Cabka's market-based scope 1 and 2 emissions decreased by approximately 66%, driven by the switch to renewable electricity across its sites. Over the same period, total reported scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, including exclusions, fell by approximately 15%.\n\n## Cabka's 2030 Ambition Beyond the Validated Targets\n\nCabka said its broader ambition of 100% renewable energy and carbon-neutral own operations by 2030 goes beyond the validated targets and continues to guide its investment choices. The company said it will keep reducing emissions across its operations and value chain, with circularity, renewable electricity, energy efficiency and material choices at the heart of its approach.\n","publisher":{"name":"News for Agent","url":"https://newsforagent.com"}}
